den-the-coach wrote:My plan would be to let Keenum and Foles go and then Sign Chase Daniels who will be a free agent with the Chiefs in hope of finding another Tyrod Taylor. Daniels has a better arm and is more elusive than Keenum so there would be some upside there and I would draft hopefully Goff, but most likely Connor Cook or Carson Wentz. I think I like Wentz better because he's a better athlete, however, Cook has played against better competition.

Then take it from there, if Daniels is not the guy then you have two young Quarterbacks to battler it out in Mannion and Wentz or if Daniels is another Taylor then even better.

If the Rams are drafting a QB in 1st round, then I dont see the point in bringing in another vet QB, let Keenum start.
Since the coaching staff/scheme is staying the same, they need some continuity. Let keenum start 3-4 games, and then play the rook. If the kid isnt ready right away, then he shouldnt be a 1st or 2nd rounder

Are we all assuming that Mannion was a wasted pick?

That's my guess as to what will happen. Foles and Keenum will remain as veteran presences and Mannion will get his shot.

I just don't know what's going to happen. I mean, will Kroenke really keep Fisher a lame duck so he can fulfill his contract? Will Fisher (gulp!) get an extension? Without an extension, what OC, FA QB, etc. worth their salt want to come here?

That's the sad part. We're looking at Keenum as a viable place holder when he barely completed 60% of his passes for 138 yards per game and .8 TD's/game. The offense is, and continues to be a joke. I don't think it even matters who they start at QB.

Well if it makes you feel any better, he averaged 166 yards per game

Damn profootballreference.com. They divided his total yards by 6 games just because he took a snap in a non-start. He didn't even attempt a pass but they still use that as a "game".

Haha. Because 166 is sooooooo much better. I threw up a little in my mouth when I had typed that....

Yup, the offense has been so bad for so long, Keenum is actually a consideration.

Fisher staying means Mannion is in the works for sure.
Its puzzling though that if Mannion is the QB of the future (In Fisher eyes), that he remained inactive at the end of the year and got no snaps.
On the other hand, if there is a QB available at 15 that Fisher cant pass up (a la Gurley or Donald) it wouldnt surprise me to see him pull the trigger even if he likes Mannion

I see a coach who knows he's safe.

Playing Mannion this year would be altering the plan in Fisher's eyes (imo) and Fisher is a man who sees no reason to alter his plan...
