Load of crap.

Rams had a dearth of talent, and lost some guys who were not relevant to success.

Saffold, like every cogent poster knew here, was critical. Re-sign him was a meme, I wasn’t the only one, but they insisted on outsmarting themselves.

Hey, Les, competent guards don’t grow on Ogletrees!

Yeah, that’s a shot.

Gotta get smarter.

Now would be a good time.

Packers put a lot of money into the LB position last year, hard to see them doing that this year too. Austin Hooper TE would be a guy they should be after, releasing Jimmy Graham would free up a good chunk of salary for Hooper.

And noticed both Packer RT's from last year are free agents, could Havenstein be a fit perhaps. GB has 10 draft picks, the Rams need more picks and have Evans in the wings to start. Good year to draft a T too.

Noteboom was a first time starter. Do you fully assume Noteboom wouldn’t have improved?
Yeah.. you have to make decisions... and high $ multi year deals on 30+ guys are dicey.

Saffold had 4 straight years of good health. But he still scares me with his history. Having said that, he left and his replacement got injured. Go figure.

Its hard to manage the cap. You can't predict the future you can only speculate. So lets say they signed RS to a multiyear deal last year. Maybe we win the Superbowl this year and maybe we don't. So how much money is left for Whitworth and Blythe? Would Noteboom, Allen, Edwards and Evans improved riding the pines? Would Noteboom slide into LT in 2020, with no game experience?

Like I said, difficult to say.

I would think, they have to find a way to keep either Littleton or Fowler.

I would have enjoyed Rodger’s struggles last year as opposed to the disaster zone that was proven by the Rams OL play.

Oh, then he became one of the best OL men in the league again. It was a pleasure watching him. Nary a Rams OL that could sniff his jock.

Yeah, he’s over thirty. That’s one year down on his current contract.

You betting against him this year, too?

I totally agree. Am I betting against him? Hell, no. I wish him nothing but good health and much success. He was a great Ram and seemed like a terrific person (as close as we can get via the TV and internet). Always smiling. It was a pleasure to watch him play. He almost made the Superbowl two years in a row. I was rooting for Tennessee throughout the postseason and that would have only increased had they made the big game.

saffold carried whitworth and the rams offense to the postseason two years in a row, he left and the rams offense dropped out of the top 10 in scoring and missed the playoffs - he then went to the titans and carried lewan and the titans offense to the postseason. saffold is an offense maker.

c'mon... had saffold remained with the rams in 2019, had the rams dropped $44m on him as the titans did, some would now be complaining about how he underachieved in 2019 after getting paid, like gurley, like cooks, like whit, like hav, like... :roll2:

or are some under the impression that saffold dominated in his last year with the rams when facing those 6-man fronts? against the pats in the super bowl, against the bears, against the eagles, etc.?

yeah, as i watched saffold from 2010-2016 i always said to myself, now there's an all-pro left guard that the rams can't ever afford to lose... back on planet earth - the rams offense failed with saffold against the tougher defenses in 2018, against 6-man fronts, just as they did in 2019, and he was a whipping post in tennessee, a fa bust in the eyes of many fans and pundits, until tannehill took over (funny how that works).

look, i dig the hell out of saffold, no one was a bigger saffold supporter than i when rams fans whined about his "health issues", he's always been a quality guard, and was underrated for a long time - but the notion that saffold made or broke the rams offense, or the titans offense for that matter, is just silly imo... and yeah, i watch the games, and a lot of 22.

Yep. You are watching those dime a dozen OG’s that sprout from the OG tree.

Nice world, that.

What does it cost?
