I think that Spanos wants LA, however if he can't have it, as long as nobody else has it, he's okay with that. He doesn't want to be the "small" guy, and he knows that partnering with Kroenke and the Rams, he can't avoid that. He'll have the less popular team, in both pure fans and corporate money, he'll personally be dwarfed by Kroenke's wealth, and and it'll always be Kroenke's stadium, his vision, his plan.

He's still the second team with the Raiders, but I think he's counting on being the more wealthy owner as well as being his vision and his project, and his team would be more likely to get more of those corporate dollars. I think he's okay with having his home games vs the Raiders be mostly Raiders fans, because he'll still be bigger than Davis. He'll never be bigger than Kroenke.

True, but it got George Costanza fired.

Where it went all wrong for George is when he tried to re-gift to her the cashmere sweater with the red dot on it :)

So why won't GS fund the stadium in San Diego. Is LA that much more a sure thing for their investors?

Is that something that would be frowned upon?

Arnold Schwarzenegger seemed to think it's okay.

What gave it away? The kid with a big forehead?

They will but not at the same levels. San Diego would require significant public support to make the numbers work. LA is not a sure thing for investors but the potential is much greater for PSL's and corporate sponsorships.
