I am going to sorely miss football kickoff at 10am. To my great misfortune I find myself far away from my beloved LA and in south texas surrounded by obnoxious Cowboys fans and even more annoying Saints fans. I will be here pretty much the entire season. Watching games with these numbskulls is going to test my patience. All I hear is Dak this, Dak that. *vomit*

Oh and there is widespread delusion down here that I didn't know existed. They actually believe, like really really believe that they had us beat in the playoff game last season and we were lucky to go through. Lmao. I can only laugh. I actually went back and watched the highlights of the game again because I thought maybe I am misremembering it if so many of these people have a very different impression of that game. Then I realized I was remembering it just fine and it was one way traffic at the Coli and we were never, not for one minute under any threat from them. But these fine Texans seems to be experiencing some weird community delusional disorder specific to that game.

Well to be logical, I would say a slow start for the Rams. Much like last year as they did no Preseason. But they will turn it on after halftime.
I’d say as long is it a one score game going into the half, we should be ok. In other words, I would be worried if I were the Panthers if they are up any less than 10 at the half.
Game 1s are always so hard to predict though. Should be a good one though. They are a good team and really want to forget the end of their season last year much like us.

Different offense with Gurley. Definitely runs through him. Defense seemed hot and cold to me last year. Kupp is a big return.

It’s cliche, but sending pressure to Goff messes him up. If you don’t blitz Goff he’s awesome, you blitz him he’s a turd

Jared Goff is very very overrated by national media. Sean McVay is an absolute genius. they have great WRs that can seperate. Cooks, Kupp and Woods. Big test for our secondary this weekend.

Defense is solid and they probably have the best defensive player in the league in Donald

The rumor is Gurley has a bad knee injury and may never be the same player he once was

When was the last time you can remember Cam actually being on???...Its been a few years to be honest, and with a bum ankle the running part of his game wont be there and with Aaron Donald breathing down your throat on every snap, I just don't see Cam picking the Rams apart or any team with his arm especially after shoulder surgery. Don't be surprised if Cam totally stinks up the entire game.

Also a guy named Wade Phillips calling the defense who uh had a pretty good game against us once

Tough team. Glad we are at home. Just for the love of God protect Cam. And Cam get rid of the ball quick even if you have to throw it away.

Yeah the saving grace here is that they will more than likely be a little rusty. First games of the year are usually a toss up. Lots of weird stuff happens.

I think the game will say more about our D than the O. The Rams are gonna put a bunch of points on the board and the D has to make it a small bunch.

I've never played a doctor on tv, but if what I know about arthritis is right, Gurley should be 100%.

Really good coaching staff, Gurley is a giant question mark, but if he’s healthy he’s a problem. O-line got bad towards the end of the season, really good WR core, great D-line and good secondary. Weak LB corp.
Goff is the weak link, his last 8 games he had 7 int and 8 TD, he got exposed big time

What I know about them? They have my favorite corner of all time......(NRC) Does this hit look intentional/unintentional because it looks like 23 couldn't slow down when he hit 11 and they collided.

He hit him with the force of millions of butthurt, marble-mouthed swamp Frenchies.

We're playing them at a perfect time. No starter has played in PS, coming off terrible superbowl showing, left coast to beast coast, andf they lost a few coaches this off-season.

Love a win but i dont see how carolinas ol can hold up against a very underated rams defense. This wont be pretty folks. Battle of FG's at first turns into a rams onslaught against carolinas secondary.

Muddle huddle and shifts after the 15 second mark on the play clock. Don’t let McVay call audibles from the sideline. But never on 1st down, he likes to goes quick on that down or any second down after a 5+ yard gain.

If Ron is indeed calling the defense it should be an interesting chess match between him and McVay. I hate the idea of going against a Wade Phillips defense though, he seemed to write the blueprint on how to beat Cam

One of Phillips' general philosophies when it comes to quarterbacks is "hit them, hit them again, hit them some more, hit them even harder and then change it up by hitting them from a different direction".
He's got the horses to implement that philosophy too.

We gotta put the clamps on Gurley and blitz the hell outta Goff. I'm scared sh*tless for our o-line.

I’m in a Yahoo pick em and this is one of the more lopsided games. Beating the Rams will be a big upset.

Coach who knows how NFL is played in 2019 vs coach whos trying to get back to the 80s even harder than Marty McFly.

A young hotshot coach who managed to score three points in the Superbowl. We managed more than that against a better defense.

I think that the Rams managed to stockpile a lot of talent last year thru drafts and free agent signings, and that turned Mcvay from a decent to good coach to one who won the NFC. Remains to be seen if he keeps it going or they shot their load so to speak.

To be fair, going against us isn't really equivalent to going against Belichick.

Truth be told though, Wade Phillips concerns me way more than Sean McVay does, especially with question marks on our offensive line.

Wade Phillips doesn't worry me. Its the combination of talent and coaching that is the concern.

To say the Rams are overrated is stupid.

Should be a tough game. Most Rams fans don't seem worried about Carolina and think it will be a blow out.

All I know is if our o-line doesn’t do their job Donald will have double digit sacks after one game and Cam will be on IR.

Goff is definitely overrated. That defense is not. Cover Kupp, dude is a catalyst for that receiving corps.

I am confident that our D-Line will be more disruptive than the Rams.

As long as Rivera calls the defensive plays, I'll take Rivera over Phillips.

Rams are over-rated IMO. CMC is gonna have a field day! This one is easier than you think.
Panthers 35-10

I think the one element everyone is overlooking is Jared Goff. Is he a CLUTCH QB, or just the product of a clever system that no one had figured out until the Patriots did in the Superbowl?

Donald going through Van Roten scares the bejeezus out of me, moreso than through Paradis.

How could a unit that boasts two-time reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald rank in the bottom 10? Well, just ask the Rams’ defense from a season ago. Despite near-record breaking numbers on offense, the other side of the ball struggled big time under coordinator Wade Phillips. Los Angeles gave up 24 points and nearly 360 total yards per game. It decided to add a washed up Clay Matthews to help from a pass-rush perspective while letting the likes of Ndamukong Suh, Lamarcus Joyner and Mark Barron walk in free agency. There’s no reason to believe this defense got better.

I think the whole world will be pulling for the Rams after the bitch fit the Saints threw after the NFC conference game. It’s one thing to bitch about a call but another to blame the call on your loss after your midget QB throws a pick in OT

A couple thoughts on the Rams...

Goff is over-rated, not saying he isn't good, but he's closer to what we saw in the SB in my opinion
Is Gurley still Gurley?
Solid LT, but what about the rest of the OL, also Whitworth's age has to show at some point, but probably not Week 1
Great WR group & serviceable TE's as well
Aaron Donald to me IS that defense, no other rushers scare me (no not Fowler Jr.) Clay Matthews hasn't been Clay Matthews as of late
Talib is getting old, Weddle is getting older than old, and Peters has been more talk than play late last season, I like their nickel even if just for the hit vs New Orleans

Goff is overrated as hell, shut down the run, you shut down the bum.
