I never log out of the site on either device and only seem to need to after clearing cookies/cacheLately, and only on my iPhone and only on RFU, it requires me to log in every time open the site. Yes, of course I click the “remember me” radio button each time I log in but sure enough if I close the browser and reopen I have to log on. Surely it’s not a big deal because the phone stores the password so I don’t have to type in the info each time but it just seems weird. Was there an upgrade or security patch added that would cause this?Maybe it’s HJ’s “them” controlling what I can see by aeneas1 6 years 2 months ago Total posts: 16894 Joined: Sep 13 2015 Norcal Hall of Fame Re: Log in issue POST #2 i take it you're using safari as your browser? lots of browser security updates lately, especially safari, wondering it this is a byproduct of an update? anyway, not experiencing the same thing with my pc / chrome / firefox, haven't tried my phone, android, (hardly ever use it)... let us know if it continues.. by dieterbrock 6 years 2 months ago Total posts: 11512 Joined: Mar 31 2015 New Jersey Hall of Fame Log in issue POST #3 TOPIC AUTHOR aeneas1 wrote:i take it you're using safari as your browser? lots of browser security updates lately, especially safari, wondering it this is a byproduct of an update? anyway, not experiencing the same thing with my pc / chrome / firefox, haven't tried my phone, android, (hardly ever use it)... let us know if it continues..Yeah I use safari on my Iphone. Its weird because this is the only site I have that issue with, and its only on my phone. Not an issue, just found it weird by Elvis 6 years 2 months ago Total posts: 39767 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Re: Log in issue POST #4 I only rarely get booted off of my phone or iPad. My phone gives me an alert that the website is not secure. Is this an iPhone issue? I’m assuming it’s a “my phone issue”as elvis mentioned, using http (as we do here) instead of https (ssl certificate) will throw up security alert flags, especially these days as more and more browsers are embracing https.... but, again, https is more about ecommerce, i.e. adding a layer of security/protection for shared data such as credit cards, something that rfu doesn't deal with, sensitive/private info... but everyone's moving to https, and i'm sure rfu will too before long, in fact i'm currently experimenting with cloudfare's ssl package, looks great.re getting bounced off the site, timed out, after a bit more digging it appears that this has nothing to do with http/https, it's a cookie issue... i've reset the cookie at rfu which is supposed to help, but you should clear your browser's cache and also use the forum tool to clear your forum cookies as follows: "dashboard > navigation > delete cookies".hopefully this will help!cc @elvis by dieterbrock 6 years 2 months ago Total posts: 11512 Joined: Mar 31 2015 New Jersey Hall of Fame Log in issue POST #9 TOPIC AUTHOR Elvis wrote:I've been having to log in a lot more often on my iPhone and iPad now than ever before, started last weekend i think. The secure thing has to do with browsers now flagging sites that don't have SSL certificates. It really doesn't matter for us, we don't do any business, don't take any money, don't store anyone's sensitive data. If we were a business taking credit cards, then it would matter.Still, it's a bad look bad so i suppose we're gonna have to deal with it...Its really no big deal, I guess knowing that its not just me is really all I need to know. Was getting concerned it was my phone itself. by Elvis 6 years 2 months ago Total posts: 39767 Joined: Mar 28 2015 Los Angeles Administrator Log in issue POST #10 dieterbrock wrote:Its really no big deal, I guess knowing that its not just me is really all I need to know.
