I like the "old school" feel. Any way to switch avatars/profiles to the left side?

Hi Phil, yeah i don't like them on the right either. I think there's an extension to move them to the left. I'm looking into it.

On the old school, do you think the gray as the helmet background throws it off somehow? Should it be white?

Nah man, it's perfect. For backgrounds, white always comes across as too intense. It's good to have a gradient-look to it.

I have experience in Photoshop if you ever want to change the graphics up a little bit. Feel free to send me an email bro! I like what you've done here.
