POST #2 Opening day. Baseball. I remember opening day, whether it was Babe Ruth League, Legion Ball, High School or College, the butterflies. Not nervous about failure but the excitement of competing. I loved the smell of fresh cut grass. The sound of balls popping in gloves as everybody warmed up their arms. That first good contact, crack of the bat. Like few other feelings. A1, as far as your Pirates go, McCutcheon will bounce back. He's too good not to bounce back. I just worry if they're not contending for a wild card will they trade him? I hope not. He IS the Pittsburgh Pirates. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. McVay: 77-49, 2 Superbowls, 1 Lombardi............Doubt at your own peril by aeneas1 8 years 2 months ago Total posts: 16894 Joined: Sep 13 2015 Norcal Hall of Fame Opening Day, Gotta Love It.... I've been one for over 40 years. I'm not too familiar with your Pirates but its going to be hard competing with the Cubs this year. They're the odds on favorite to win the World Series. Most people have them repeating but I have seen a couple publications that think the Dodgers will be the ones representing the NL. The Dodgers sure got off to a nice start yesterday. 4 HR's. A grand slam by Peterson. 2 HR's by Grandal and a 3 run shot by Seager. Kershaw off to a great start too with only one earned run in 7 innings. This should be a good year. The hated Giants figure to be pretty good. Should be a good pennant chase between the Dodgers and Giants. Whenever those two are battling for the division its always fun. Stressful but fun. by aeneas1 8 years 2 months ago Total posts: 16894 Joined: Sep 13 2015 Norcal Hall of Fame Opening Day, Gotta Love It....
