Nah, they weren't chanting "Beat LA". They were chanting "Let's Go Brandon". Look, here's the proof...

'Beat LA' has been a thing forever.

No doubt, in the 70s the Giants were fielding dreadful teams. The only thing Giants had to root for was beating Cey, Garvey, Lopes, Baker, Smith, Sutton, etc. Beating LA was the highlight of the season. Candlestick Park was an adventure unto itself. Cold as heck at night with that wind swirling inside the place.

Didn't the beat LA chant start in Boston when the Lakers played the Celtics in the 80's? That is the first time I remember hearing it.

AJ Pollock hit two homer last night but it was overshadowed by Chris Taylor's 3 homer night. Dodgers are still alive. They have their two aces next two games. But a 3-2 deficit on the road is an uphill climb. I'm sure the Braves are a little nervous right now knowing what happened last year.

Looks like I have this place to myself. I think I'll urinate in the corner of this thread.

Dodgers? No doubt, great tradition. Spiffy uniforms. However, the fans have got to be the biggest pussies on the planet. I'll bet nary a one could do one pushup.

Well, well, this is a nice place to walk a dog. Come on, Boomer, good boy. Boomer, feel free to drop a load on the Dodger logo. That's it, a nice big dump. Good dog.

SF fans have gotta be feeling pretty inferior to LA these days. In less than 4 months their baseball and football teams were eliminated by the LA teams. 8-)

So the Dodgers traded Pollock for Craig Kimbrel. I remember Kimbrel being a dominant closer not too long ago. Had a couple injury riddled seasons. Did pretty well for the Cubs last year. In 36 innings he posted a 0.49 ERA with 64 strike outs. Saved 23 out of 25 games. Those are elite numbers.

I don't know why he was traded. I assume it was a trade since he played for both teams. In his limited time with the White Sox his numbers weren't good. I'm not sure why the Cubs traded him. Just looking at last year's stats. If he wasn't in an expiring contract year why would you want to trade a guy like that?

Dodgers have done well reviving older pitchers. Treinen was lights out at the end of last season. I remember how well Brandon Morrow did for them a few years ago at in his 30's. Maybe Kimbrel can regain his mojo with the Dodgers?
