Thank God. The Yankees shipped the right-handed to the Reds on Monday in exchange for a package of Cincinnati’s compensatory pick in this year’s draft, expected to be the 36th overall, and minor league second baseman Shed Long — who promptly is being flipped to the Mariners for minor league center fielder Josh Stowers — a source confirmed to The Post. 1 by PARAM 6 years 5 months ago Total posts: 13212 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame Fully Operational Death Star - All Purpose Yankees Thread POST #43 Horny Mcbae liked this post I like the DJ signing. We need front of the line pitching and to re-inforce the BP if we lose guys. We got Paxton who could be a solid guy. And we beefed up the BP. Would have loved a Kluber or something of that profile. Harper and Machado are basically luxury signings. We don't NEED them. I wanted Harper because I think he will fit better. Even though I think Machado is the better player. If we don't sign either I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Would still love for us to trade for a starting pitcher but that can be done later too I guess. Basically if we go into next season with what we have I think we would have incrementally improved the team. The natural progression of our kids + Gary definitely not repeating last season's debacle + added starting pitching and BP pitching = we are better than last year. We might not have signed that pitcher who would put us over the top but we are still better imo. So getting that pitcher would be awesome, however I love Du and hate to see him go.Harper. Been hearing about 2019 for years and how he was going to be a Yankee.
