My fear is that he's making moves just to make moves in a lot of cases. As you say, as long as they win, he can keep playing oddball baseball but I can't help but think that it's all going to catch up at some point.

Cubs seem like a team of destiny as well as just being damn good so I don't like the Dodgers chances. The matchups are going to be a bit wonky as out of sync the Dodgers are right now. I mean, is Kershaw going to start game 1? I kind of doubt it. So, we'll see if that works to the Dodgers favor or not. It won't ace against ace like a "normal" series usually is.

Roberts has been managing in a similar style to Lasorda. Lasorda went with this gut more than most managers. Roberts doesn't always follow the traditional methods of closers only in the last inning or setup guys never in the middle innings. I honestly thought it was a mistake to pinch hit with Ruiz instead of Puig. Show how much I know.

Honestly, the Cubs are so stacked, I don't think sticking with the traditional managing methods will beat them. You have to think outside the box and pull the right strings with the matchups. Roberts has a knack for that so far. Maybe it won't continue, but I believe its the only chance they have.

Well, it starts tonight. On the surface, it would seem the Dodgers don't stand much of a chance. They laid everything out on the line the other night. But it was either that or they wouldn't be playing today.

I should just be happy they made it this far. I honestly did not think they were even a playoff team much less a NLCS team when the season began. So to make it this far has surpassed my expectations.

But I will be living and dying with their every swing, pitch, catch, throw and run. Cussing them out at times and high fiving at other times. And who knows? I'm having memories of that magical 1988 run. A manager who manages in a similar style of that particular manager back then. Can they shock the world again? :o 8-)

Well, so much for unorthodox. Kendrick in LF burns the Dodgers in the first inning. Any regular LF catches that ball. Kendrick isn't even much at the plate or a threat as a leadoff guy.

Bases loaded and Kendrick coming up or run against an outfielder who's shallow and already got the ball? Real tough call there.

Okay, game off. I don't mind losing to a better team but the Dodgers look like clowns and Maeda needs to get punched in the face for smiling after giving up all these hits.
