2019-2020 NBA CHAMPION LOS ANGELES LAKERS !!!!

#17 baby. Celtics are feeling our hot breath. Way more playoff appearances and finals appearances in the modern era then Foston.and now tied for the trophy lead. How much better can a Chip get for a Lakers fan.

Watching the Lakers again. Happy days. They were bad for so long.

This 20-21 season I'm concerned about rim protection. They lost a lot of length and athletesism when Dwight and McGee were not retained. Gasol is big and a superior passer / scorer than either of those other 2, but he's not as quick or springy defensively.

Harrell brings a lot of what D39 did defensively and what he lacks in size and fear factor, he makes up on the offensive side.
So its McGee vs Gasol. D edge McGee imo. O edge Gasol.

Mathews is out new Danny Green. Pretty much a wash although DG's D might have been a notch better.

Rondo vs Schroeder, a longer term upgrade there. At worst a wash.

All that said, I like our chances but I miss Dwight, , , even with his horror at the free-throw line.

Anthony Davis is gonna be out for a few weeks with a calf strain. Lakers might have trouble securing a top spot without him. Utah Jazz are on fire. Clippers are going to win a lot of games. Lakers might end up 3rd in their conference. Although home court in the covid era ain't what it used to be. A healthy Laker squad in the playoffs would have to be considered favorites.

The Lakers put up a great statue outside Staples in '18 and his retired jersey is hanging along with all the other Lakers greats and championship banners.

Got to see him play when I was a kid. Bummer he just missed the "72 championship.

Gods speed and enjoy playing on that great basketball team in the sky with Chick calling your games again !!

RIP Elgin Baylor.

Hate to see the legends pass. It also makes me realize how old I am when I see someone I watched as a kid pass in his mid to late 80's. :shock2:
