Players are gonna have to provide their own intensity. I know home crowds really pump the players up. But they won't have that. There really is no home court advantage.

Love it when all the big shot pundits get it soooo wrong.

I dunno. I just don't seem to be into it like I used to be. Maybe its because Kobe's gone. Maybe its different without fans. No home court advantage. Lebron's better to me now that he's in a Lakers uniform. But he'll never mean what Kobe and Magic meant to me.

I do pull for the Lakers and want them to win. But I haven't been watching the games yet. Maybe when it gets tougher now that they're past the first round. I definitely want them to kick the Clippers asses. The Lakers are still the number one team.

The Clippturds laid an egg before we could dismantle them ourselves. Leonard is not a leader. Mopes around all the time. Good thing he has big hands.
Paul George never impressed me. Sure he's a solid player but he isn't looking dominant in his prime. He dissed the Lakers anyway by not signing.

The Lakers have been on a skid since Dr. Buss died, the the Stern-CP3 debacle, Odom's jettison with no compensation, Phil hanging them up, Pau pouting, Kobe's achillies, then Dr. Buss's kids crapping the bed for half a decade. No wonder no one wanted to sign on.

Now we have regained our front office savvy and bringing in LBJ helpe attract top player. First Magic and now Pelinka. Pelinka wanted MJ's position and MJ says he didn't like being the boss anyway.
Pelinka has a lot of player roots from his days as far back as being Kobe Bryant's agent and president and CEO of The Landmark Sports Agency.

So with the current resurgence and star power of LA, I think that the worst days are behind them. The train will get a rollin again.

And did I mention, F the Clippturds.

Culture, baby.

We don’t need superstar FAs. We’re one game away with late lottery steals (Bam, Herro), saavy vets (Dragic, Butler), and scouting coups (Robinson, Nunn).

I dunno. Lakers are in the finals now. They will be tough to beat. You'd think I'd be more excited. While I keep up with them checking in on the scores in the mornings, I still haven't watched any games. Just doesn't seem the same. Like I said, maybe its the covid thing. Maybe its the political stuff turning me off. Its just not the same as last time. My whole family used to make it Laker night when Kobe was in the finals.

I'm definitely pulling for them. But its hard for me to get behind Lebron when he gets political. I might watch some of the finals. Funny thing, I've watched a lot of Dodger games and I plan to watch them in the playoffs.

Believe me this is the tightest group I've ever seen in LA and I've been a fan since Elgin Baylor.

Is that the southbeach spin? Culture? Thats yogurt. 😉

FA's are how champs are built. Or don't Bosh, Shaq, Mourning, etc count?

The Lakers want Miami. It's a better match up for them than Boston.

The western conference is the tougher conference. Lakers just cruised through final games in 'the bubble' to avoid injuries.

2020 (ir)regular season.
Lakers 52-19
Heat 44-29

Don't get me wrong, Miami is good. Riley does a good job. CP3 wants revenge on Rondo for punching him. Still, Bam and the Heat bigs will have a tough time with AD-McGee-Howard. Lakers D is tough and they're long.
Straight up, Lakers are too big and skilled but they play the games for a reason..

Should be fun.

It sure is different. Video fans and BLM plastered on the floor. The energy is different but the play is just as good.
Even w/o the pandemic the NBA would likely have allowed that stuff. Just not all teams would have.

elBJ is really ticked off about Breyona [sp]. I too wish he'd check that at the door. I wish they all would. But like CK, they are taking advantage of their platform. MLB / Dodgers haven't been silent either.. This is just the 2020 effect. But like the CK / NFL kneeling thing, i believe it too will pass as things cool off and / or get resolved.

I will say that after the long 6yr Laker drought it took a while to re-energize me this season. The post season has been really exciting ball. LA has been really good. Took out the 3 hot WC teams. Still wish we could have matched up with SD to erase any doubt.

Nice to have the Lakers back.

Go Dodgers !!
Go Lakers !!
Go Rams !!
