I think Edwin is a huge bat who we need. Apart from that I want Gary and Gio healthy and we’re ready. Gio had a twisted ankle today in that meaningless game in TX.

Already, in the first game of the postseason, playoff excitement. Helluva comeback by the Nats. When Scherzer gives up 3 runs early, it doesn't look good. But gotta give them credit....they came back.

Friday, lets see some good old Yankee magic. If there ever was a Yankee team who emulated the Five O'clock Lightning Yanks from the early part of the last century it's these guys.

Go Yanks!!! Just do what you've done to Minnesota since the 90's.

Now who do we want to play Houston? Not that I want somebody to knock them off, I just want somebody to stress them some. My bet is Oakland would be more capable. Just tenderize them a little.

Man I know the Yankees own the Twins but damn, it can’t last forever.
This 25 man roster is a killer.
If Boone goes with 13 pitchers, and Encarnacion is ready to go, no Voit, no Ford.
3 spots on bench are a lock, Romine, Maybin & Wade.

Very tough decisions. I don't understand the 13 pitchers, especially if they're only going with 3 starters (Tanaka, Paxton and Seve). 9 relievers ought to be enough and then they could put Voit on the 25.

If a bullpen of Happ, Cessa, CC, Loaisiga, Green, Ottavino, Kahnle, Britton and Chapman ain't enough, 1 more arm isn't going to make a difference. That's 4 lefties and 5 righties.

Here's a weird fact. The Yankees have won 100 or more games 21 times. They've finished with 103 six times. Next most often win total is 101 (4), followed by 100 (3 times) and 102 (twice). They've won the World Series 7 times (lost it twice) combined with those win totals (with 2019 undetermined yet).

When they've won more than 103 (6 times), they're 5-1 in World Series play. What's it mean? Nothing, except when you win 100 or more, you're pretty good.

It’s because they have 3 starters that they are thinking 13. Starter 4 might be an opener game.
I think they want CC on the roster and he would be #13 (imo)
I’d prefer Ford to Voit because of the LH bat but can’t see sitting Voit unless he’s hurt (or there’s no open spot)

Voit is in. Tyler Lyons makes it. WTF. No Ford.

Come on Pax. Shake it off big guy. We need you.

I like Ford a whole lot. He’s a Jersey boy. But Voit won’t play, maybe get an at bat or 2.
Encarnacion is a beast

I think the grand slam might’ve ended the series. That Dubonik kid or whatever the hell his name was. NEVER stood a chance. He doesn’t belong in this game. Roco put him out there to die. That kid might wanna go drive Uber again.

Encarnacion has quickly become one of my favorites. Such a dangerous bat. Sanchez still hasn’t gotten involved yet. Gleyber tho. He has my whole heart.

Yeah that was a back breaker.

The stuff I heard coming in was Minnesota and the Yankees were practically tied with record breaking home run numbers, though Minnesota struck out less which the Yankees were more prone to do. So far they both have 3 homers but Minnesota has struck out 27 times and the Yankees 18. More important, the Yankees have not gone outside the zone much and as a result Minnesota pitching is averaging 22 pitches per inning. :o Yankee pitching just 17 PPI.

The Yankees have scored 18 runs, Minnesota 6.
OB%: NYY .446, Minnesota .284
AVG: NYY .297, Minnesota .197

I am really amped to see Severino Monday. Don't know what to expect except no more than a 5 inning outing. Go a strong 5 and turn it over to the pen.
