He may not play in the All-Star game, he's 3rd in voting, I've done all I can, I voted 35 times, he's now hitting .300...

Well, Kershaw's out for a couple weeks. I hope it isn't going to be one of those lingering back issues that affect a players game.

They're still playing ok at the moment. But if they go into a slide they won't have their stopper.

Luckily we have the All-Star game break in the middle of Kershaws DL visit & we're playing the Rockies & Orioles before the break, but I have my own personal history of a slightly bulging disc & your just A slightly wrong move from having the pain come right back...
I just read where the Dodgers are 14-2 in games Kershaw has started this year & 45-43 all others have started...
Maeda pitched really well last start, 1 run, 3 hits, that's Kershawish, his era has been right around 2.50 all year, maybe Urias will become Fernando all of a sudden too...LOL
We'll see said the blind man, we just gotta play the hand we're dealt & hope for the best...
The new pitcher goes tonite...

Lol, Kershaw goes down and the other pitchers are pitching like him. Great game by Kazmir last night. Norris was solid the other night. I know its hard to keep up that pace. But with or without Kershaw they won't be going anywhere if the other guys don't step up. They've had their ups and downs this year, but right now they're having their ups.

I'm hopeful Ryu can come back in time to make a contribution in August and September. In the meantime, maybe the others can stay solid. If they can consistently get them 6 innings maybe they have a shot at the wild card. When you have an ace like Kershaw, that wild card game is winnable. Just get to the playoffs and its a new season. Anyone has a chance.

Kazmir, McCarthy & Norris just swept the Rockys whose line-up has some stud bats in it, 38 strikeouts in those 3 games & 2 runs, Carlos Gonzales said he's glad to be leaving L.A.,,Julio Urias starts tomorrow against the Orioles then he'll be shut down & pitch no more this year according to Roberts...A pissed off Rocky team plays the Giants next...LOL
Ryu is about ready to rejoin the main club...Kershaw, McCarthy, Norris, Kazmir, Ryu & Maeda would give us a solid starting rotation...I was surprised Norris & McCarthy are as strong as they are, throwing 94-95 mph fastballs, so was Kazmir, regularly throwing 94 mph...Our pitching was lights out against the Rox giving up only 1 run, the bullpen gave up the other & Seager extended his hitting streak to 18 games, the offense is coming alive again, good omen...We have 5 bigtime starters till Kershaw comes back...

I never expected to see McCarthy come back so soon, much less pitch like he did. Him being from the AL I don't know much about him. But what a great start as a Dodger. These guys keep pitching like that, we could see a playoff team after all. Nice stretch of wins. We know it can't stay that way. Thats where you need Kershaw to be the stopper when the next losing stretch hits.

I don't want to be a buzzkill. LOL Especially because I don't think the Dodgers are in that bad of shape really. But I think Kershaw is gone for at least a month. McCarthy's 5 innings was a definite shot in the arm, but it still was only 5 innings. Lets see how Norris holds up after a few starts....If Ryu comes back and is near to his old self all bets are off. I'm real curious to see what happens with him. I'm pretty nervous about Ryu. Otherwise, I think we will make it interesting, especially if the Giants every decide to lose.

I do get excited that I admit Hacksaw & I also admit that the pitchers like McCarthy, Ryu, have to prove they can go more than 5 innings, Kershaw has a back injury & those typically take a month, but if you've been watching these pitchers lately they're strong as all get out when they're pulled & Woods is ready to pitch again, so suddenly we have starters up the wazoo to go with the #1 bullpen in the N.L. & our offense is finally waking up, yeah, I'm excited &drinking the Kool-Aid & the Giants are playing very well, they won today...We came back against the Orioles tonight & are 3 outs away from winning our 4th straight, I think the Giants might be looking over their shoulder, we're creeping up...

Dodgers just beat the Orioles 7-5 for their 5th straight win & 10th straight at home, Baez winning pitcher, Urias was throwing line drive pitches & Orioles went 3-0 but the Dodgers fought back & Seager had another multiple hit game...
Ryu to start Thursday against the Padres...
