I watched the Dodgers/Nationals game last night & frankly got pissed that Jansen got the "Player of the Game" vote for getting 3 outs & protecting a 4-1 lead, what about Kershaw striking out Bryce Harper (League MVP) 3 times & not just striking him out 3 times but had him flailing away at outside pitches he couldn't even reach with a telephone pole, he was so frustrated...I know it was a tribute to Jansen BUT Gagne was a 'roider &
IMO is no better than Barry Bonds & his homeruns he had to "juice" to hit...Rant over...

*****Just read this about one of our prospects, his name is Yadier Alvarez, he was the #1 rated international baseball player & the Dodgers gave him more money than he'll ever spend to sign with them, like all players these days and especially "young" international pitchers they build arm strength slowly, anyway Alvarez pitched to 7 batters, 2 1/3 innings, & struck out 7 batters...*******

That was a weird play. Outfielder comes up with that and its runners at 1st and 2nd. Puig looks a little heavier these days but he can still run. Not sure the head first slide was the best decision there considering how much time he's spent on the DL.

Seriously I'd get rid of that centerfielder, he overran the ball twice before too in other games in this series, don't know what that guy has against going clear down to the ground to pick up a grounder but he has priors & this time it was a 3 base, 2 run error in a game they probably shoulda won (Washington), but super happy it turned out like it did...Vin Scully was in disbelief as well...
S.D. you do know Puig is lighter this year don'tcha? He was told to lose weight coming into spring training, their thinking was he was too heavy & that was leading to all the hamstring issues he's had, tell you what though, he might be the fastest player in baseball & certainly has the strongest outfield arm...An article on the Dodgers website said Statcast had him going from 1st to home as fast as anybody has...

There isn't a game that goes by that I don't wish Puig was wearing any uniform but a Dodgers uniform, the guy just cannot go to the plate & take a pitch, todays game against the Pirates he saw a TOTAL of 4 pitches in 4 at bats! Then he stomps away from home plate throws his helmet on the ground picks it up & throws it in the dugout! He doesn't have a clue that HE'S the problem, to start hitting dude at least get an idea what's in the pitchers repertoire...
Kershaw allowed a 4 run inning, 2nd, settled down & was ok, but still lost 4-3... Puig had a bases loaded at bat, walked up, swung at 1st pitch & grounded out...'Nuff said, Dodgers have lost 3 in a row to the Pirates, now trail Giants by 8 games...

The way the giants are playing its going to be hard to catch them. They just gotta keep playing and see what happens. If they can make a wild card and pitch Kershaw in it, they have a chance. But the rest of the rotation worries me. No clear cut guys after Kershaw. Hopefully Urias can be that Fernando type wonder kid.

I agree sd, right now our rotation sucks outside of Kershaw, Maeda & the lefty we signed in the offseason, he's pitching ok but he's not an innings eater... Ryu is starting to throw more innings but they say he's doubtful before August & Urias gained some confidence after his 1st victory...Our bullpen according to MLB is #1 but what has me worried is our offense...AGon still only has 6 homeruns halfway thru the season, Seager is electric & is killing it, Turner got hot & he's now cooled as is Trayce Thompson, Puig, both catchers, they're hovering right at .200 & 1 is below it, Kiki Hernandez isn't hitting & was put on the Dl, Utley is now slumping, today we were shut out 7-0 on 2 hits, it was ugly
Pederson almost killed himself running into the wall last night & he's stopped hitting as well, we just don't have any consistency with RISP...

Yeah, the offense is hit and miss. Thats where you need pitching to win games. But after Kershaw thats hit and miss too. And now Kershaw has issues with his back. Could be minor, but back troubles can plague you for a long time. With all the resources available to them financially, its disappointing they didn't address the pitching more after Greinke left. Cueto was available and they let the hated giants nab him.

Agree again sd, like you I was surprised we didn't go after Cueto & Samardzya (sp) when they were available, it was like someone fell asleep at the wheel...Now I see on the screen ticker we just made a deal with Atlanta for a couple of Minor League pitchers & a position player, weren't the Dodgers voted the #1 minor league system in baseball? Kershaw was put on the 15 day DL today after receiving an ipidural ...Maeda looking good today, bottom of the 7th, 8-1 Dodgers, Fein pitching now...Seager has 3 hits today with a long homerun for his 17th hr. , a shoe-in for ROY...
He may not play in the All-Star game, he's 3rd in voting, I've done all I can, I voted 35 times, he's now hitting .300...
