Don Drysdale said Vin, was i9 his 1st major league start & threw a complete game, 9 inning shut out...Way different world in those days with the nutrition & physical training athletes get today, pitch counts etc.

Nice! I read the other day we passed the 61st anniversary of an interesting transaction. The Brooklyn Dodgers optioned LHP Tommy Lasorda to AAA Montreal and called up 19 year old LHP Sandy Koufax.

Koufax & Drysdale, what a duo...I was at the Coliseum in '58 for the initial games played there, Jerry Doggett was Vin's sidekick & stat man, anyway Koufax initially was a Wildman & had a heckuva time finding the strike zone & there was some talk that maybe Koufax wouldn't make it, then he suddenly caught fire & when he did I made it a point to be at every game he pitched at home, he never disappointed...

I live in what MLB calls the Giants/A's market so I have to pay for MLB.tv. The offense has been so disappointing that I can't watch every game but if Kershaw or Urias are pitching the game is going to be on.

Kershaw has been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season. Seager is an exciting young talent. But the team overall isn't playoff caliber. I always thought you don't know how good or bad your team is until mid June. Well, here we are in mid June and they're a little bit over .500. Which is what I thought they might be with this roster and a rookie manager.

They're not a bad team. But they're not a good one either. Just a slightly over .500 team. With the resources and payroll this team has, that has to be considered underachieving. They have time to put something together and make a run. But I don't see this roster doing that with any consistency.

Man, this is exactly what I told a friend of mine Snackdaddy, well pretty darn close to exact actually...One of the problems has been the usually reliable rbi guys are slumping, Justin Turner & AGon specifically, last night Turner had a 2 homer game & the walk-off hit in the 10th. 3 nights ago AGon did something that absolutely stunned me, btm of the 9th, we're down a run, 3-2, AGon leads off & F---ing bunts the ball to the pitcher! Our rbi guy BUNTS? Well we lost 3-2... AGon has been in a hr slump since that 10th inning hr in Frisco that the Giants scored 2 runs in the btm of the inning off Jansen to win after AGon had tied it...We just don't have a consistent offense & heard Vin say last night that we're 7 & 14 in one run games...The kids are slumping again as well (to be expected I suppose), Seager, Thompson, Pederson specifically, they have a little success then start swinging for the fences on every pitch...

They had two ace quality pitchers in a row to snap out of mini losing streaks. Now they got Kershaw and back to 50/50 on the others. Barely over .500 ball with that. Not enough to be a playoff team.

You know what I've heard more than once SD? Greinke had a huge dislike for Puig & his antics, at one time telling the driver to stop the bus so he could get off & get away from, "Greinke's words," that clown... It was speculated that Puig had a lot to do with Greinke not re-signing with the Dodgers because he liked the team, town & money but couldn't handle Puig...
Don't know why Puig bothered him so much cuz he hardly ever plays, he's hurt all the time...The way Thompson is playing wouldn't surprise me to see Puig involved in a trade, he may not have a job anymore anyway...
