Maeda looking good so far. We mighta found another gem out of Japan. Hopefully he can ease the sting of losing Greinke. I'm concerned about Kazmir though. Not sure he belongs in the rotation. I guess you can't have 5 solid pitchers these days.

Kazmir threw a 1 hitter for 7 innings against the Cubs last night & looked good his last start as well...Ryu is getting close to returning also...
Woods went on IR & Urias was recalled from AAA yesterday...If Woods keeps pitching well our frontline starters will be pretty solid, be hard to make up ground on the Giants, their pitching is stacked from starters to bullpen...
Seager & Utley are solid up the middle, Turner at 3rd, AGon at 1st, that's a solid defensive infield...
Puigs hurt again & just as his bat was starting to wake up, the guy plays spectacular in right field, but is hurt way to much IMO, its still a long ways to go to October & anything could happen...

Yeah, it seems like Kazmir either pitches a gem or he stinks up the place. Not much in between. Maeda has cooled off but he's still a decent to good pitcher. We're gonna need some offense this year, IMO. The pitchers have all had their moments, but Kershaw is the only one you can count on every 5 days.

It looked and sounded like he was trying too hard to place his pitches. Instead of getting up there and letting his stuff do its thing. I think this next start vs Atlanta we'll see the ohenom and he'll get his confidence back. Very few prospects come up and do great their first start.

Urias said he was really nervous his first start & his 1st outing to me looked just that , a very nervous 19 year old in New York City, thousands of people in the stands & on National MLB television, he's lucky he didn't wet himself...LOL...I saw him in the dugout during the game today & he looked much more relaxed playing with his teammates antics, laughing & enjoying being called up again, I'm anxious to see him tomorrow hopefully with no butterflies this time...

Those complete games are unreal, back when Koufax was pitching at Wrigley on National TV one weekend in bygone years against the Cubs he pitched a 14 inning CG & at the time I didn't think anything about him going 14 innings, I mean he looked just as strong in the 14th as when he started the game & the announcers didn't make a big deal about it either, but now with a 5 man rotation, pitch counts etc. I can see that it was a very big deal indeed...

Nothing wrong with butterflies and adrenaline. He's just gotta learn how to use that to his advantage. With the talent he's got I'm sure the light will go on sooner rather than later. At his age his body is still developing.

Better ERA and more strikeouts than Koufax? I knew Kershaw was good but I didn't know he was outpacing Koufax.
