Is Keeping a player out of the Boston or Tampa worth disrupting the good thing we have going? He is a pure DH and sometimes 1B right. So Voit will be the biggest loser out of this. What exactly was the problem that we thought Voit needed that? Also this means Stanton/Gary don't get as many chances at DH as they require. This is especially important for Gary. And I haven't even mentioned Judge who also is too good a bat to have sitting completely on a day on which he would have been the DH if we didn't have a log jam there. Also.……..This is without any Stanton/Judge and for a while Gary playing significant games at DH and frickin Kendrys Morales playing more than a few days.I don't agree with DB about the no loyalty stuff because expecting loyalty is too naïve, self interest governs sporting franchises which is fine but here's the thing...…… they could have handled this Clint thing a bit better...…….. they are going to let go of Tauchmann or Maybin on Tuesday when Stanton comes back so why not do that today and send down Clint on Tuesday? It's not much but you handle different people differently...…….. Clint seems like the kind of guy who is young enough to take this kind of stuff to heart. He said himself that he was expecting to be sent down once Judge or Stanton came back. Anyway...…. point is that we desperately need pitching help and we go and get Encarnacion. Nobody is saying he's a bad hitter. We don't make a play for Keuchal for what is reported as "just a few 100,000 dollars difference". Now we send down our best young player since the emergence of Andujar and Torres with a message from Boone "this is the reality of it...…." to a guy who is known to feel like he has never been accepted and made to feel like a part of the team from day 1 even tho he has performed. I don't like how this has been managed so far.I hope we don't trade him..... coming back from concussions and playing as well as he did with the bat should be something to be celebrated but instead media folks are part of the old school baseball mentality and get annoyed because he puts cleats on high tops shoes and plays in them? SMH. He has shown he can be a major leaguer and a great one too with improved defense. And this Encarnacion thing...……….. I hope it works out or we can package him in a trade next month to get a pitcher. I am not passing judgement on anything right now as this might be the move before the next move. I will reserve judgement until the trade deadline since there is no waiver wire stuff from this year. by Horny Mcbae 6 years 2 weeks ago Total posts: 1543 Joined: Mar 12 2018 South Bay, Los Angeles Pro Bowl Re: Fully Operational Death Star - All Purpose Yankees Thread POST #182 TOPIC AUTHOR What do you guys think of Stroman? by dieterbrock 6 years 2 weeks ago Total posts: 11512 Joined: Mar 31 2015 New Jersey Hall of Fame Re: Fully Operational Death Star - All Purpose Yankees Thread POST #183 There is no team. And they still need pitching. We can't expect Stanton and Judge to come back and play every day after being idle for so long. The DH situation with Encarnacion, Voit, Stanton, Judge and Sanchez can be managed efficiently. As far as the "keeping EE out of Boston or Tampa" disrupting continuity/what we have", there's been no continuity. Guys have missed time all season. Didi, Stanton, Sanchez, Judge, Bird, Andujar, Severino, Betances, Paxton, CC etc. etc. Is it really possible to maintain 'continuity' with all that? I agree it would suck to lose Frazier and hopefully it won't come to that. On Stromen, he's been a really good pitcher for a crappy team ( haven't finished over .500 the last couple of years). He was injured last year but the previous 2 years he threw 200+ innings. I'd take him in a heartbeat, particularly if he's cheaper than MB. He's due arbitration in 2020 so there is some control there. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. I don't agree with DB about the no loyalty stuff because expecting loyalty is too naïve, self interest governs sporting franchises which is fine but here's the thing...…… they could have handled this Clint thing a bit better...…….. they are going to let go of Tauchmann or Maybin on Tuesday when Stanton comes back so why not do that today and send down Clint on Tuesday? I will reserve judgement until the trade deadline since there is no waiver wire stuff from this year.Yeah, a wait and see approach might be best. They are still in first place. I hope he's not done but what exactly did the Yankees do to treat him worse than Sonny Gray? Send him down? He had options available. What were they supposed to do, release Gardner? That would have been loyal? Release Maybin? Or send Frazier to a place where he can be recalled in a NY second? Here's the reality. There are 3 outfield positions and they have Stanton, Hicks, Gardner and Maybin, with Judge coming back in days. Again, I think they go after Stromen and that won't cost them Frazier.
