We have hit bottom...

Hey, wait!
The Lakers still have a chance to lose their draft pick.
They're still far away from bottom!

Yeah, I read they have about a 56 percent chance of keeping the pick. The odds are in their favor, but that's not a comfortable margin. They tanked in order to keep the pick for one more year. But they're at the mercy of those ping pong balls. It worked in their favor last year as they moved up a couple spots to number two. But who knows what the luck of the draw will be this time. Then again, they could wind up with the top pick.

They're still a couple years away from being a playoff contender. By then Randle, Clarkson and Russell should be well versed in the nuances of what it takes to win in the NBA. Maybe another high pick can contribute too. But they really need sign a couple of quality veterans. They haven't been able to lure high end free agents lately. The Laker mystique ain't what it used to be. They need to start winning and produce a superstar like before. Hopefully Russell can be that guy. But he'll need to mature on and off the court.

Still a lot of work to do in free agency, but at least we retained our top 3 pick.

For you guys interested in the upcoming NBA draft, the Lakers have the #2 pick again, www.youtube.com/brandoningram this is the guy most mocks have the Lakers taking...I just spent a half hour watching You Tube highlights of Brandon Ingram, he's 18 years old, 6'9" 196lbs. & this guy has skills of a much smaller man, he can bring the ball up court like Lamar Odom, is a great passer, can finish at the rim with either hand & is absolutely deadly from 3 point land, he's a shot blocking demon around the rim & as I said always finds the open guy when he rebounds...This guy is so skilled I don't think he'll drop to the Lakers, but if he does we are set for years, his moves around the basket are really special...
You Lakers fans go take a look at this guy, he's worth your time...
