Stick with a tired starter or turn to a shaky bullpen. Doesn't help they're the type of team who relies on the long ball. Keep them in the park and they don't score much. DeGrom's a tough pitcher though. He outpitched Kershaw. I think if they left him in he woulda finished with a complete game shutout. Kershaw was good enough to win a game, but it seems he gets tired past 6 innings in the playoffs. Guess the magnitude of the games takes a lot more out of him. If the Dodgers want to win they're gonna have to have dominant performances by both Kershaw and Greinke. I mean so dominant they they don't give up more than one run in 8 innings. And they'll both have to pitch on short rest. Its the playoffs and thats what you need outta your stars. Otherwise its another first round exit. by Hacksaw_64 9 years 8 months ago Total posts: 2686 Joined: Sep 08 2015 Inglewood, CA Moderator Re: The Dodgers POST #138 Score some runs or die! by Hacksaw_64 9 years 8 months ago Total posts: 2686 Joined: Sep 08 2015 Inglewood, CA Moderator Re: The Dodgers POST #139 Kendrick 2B Seager SS Gonzalez 1B Turner 3B Ethier RF Crawford LF Grandal C Hernandez CF Greinke PTonight's Lineup by OldSchool 9 years 8 months ago Total posts: 1750 Joined: Jun 09 2015 LA Coliseum Pro Bowl Re: The Dodgers POST #140 moklerman wrote:I don't blame Mattingly, his bullpen was going to blow it no matter what. As was said Wright is a fastball hitter so you bring in a 1 trick pony that just throws hard and usually without movement. Couple that with the fact Baez has the highest % of inherited runners scoring and it was a horrible choice by Donny, the worst choice he could have made in the game. The only card he had to play was saving Kershaw from embarrassing himself again.Dodgers suck and they are likely done already. They can't hit average or better pitching. Their starters feel the pressure of having to pitch perfectly or lose and even if they were "in it", the bullpen would blow it.I'm not in the Mattingly lynch party but I had to wonder why there were so many lefties in the lineup tonight. I haven't been able to see any of this shit all year but I have to imagine there's some sort of scouting on deMet pitcher. Did he magically start dominating left-handed batting tonight or has he sucked against them and the Dodgers out-sucked him and struck out...what, every at-bat?Sorry but I disagree and blame Mattingly 100% for game 1. As was said Wright is a fastball hitter so you bring in a 1 trick pony that just throws hard and usually without movement. Couple that with the fact Baez has the highest % of inherited runners scoring and it was a horrible choice by Donny, the worst choice he could have made in the game.
