No ones talking about tanking if it was, matter of fact I agree with your post...The last 2 games these young Lakers are even playing some defense & lets not leave Nance Jr. out of the conversation, do you agree, he has size & plays hard... I like the guy & he's getting more playing time lately...
I'm a SoCal guy (San Pedro),where in SoCal are you from?

I live behind the Orange Curtain now, but grew up on the Peninsula, so familiar with Pedro.

"Orange Curtain", LOL...Have a couple of nieces living in Huntington Beach but other than dropping in on them once in awhile I seldom go to Orange County, like most Dodgers fans I resent the "Los Angeles Angels" of Anaheim riding the Dodgers coattails to gain notoriety, guess they don't know that Los Angeles is indeed in Los Angeles County & not Orange County...

The LA Lakers will not recover from this until coach Byron Scott and SG Kobe Bryant are in the Lakers rear-view mirror.
They need a new philosophy and a redistribution of the salary cap. That will attract new relevant star players to the P&G. KD for example.
They have a nice roster but their starter suck. I thought Hibbert would bring more.
This is a youth movement except for Artest and Bryant. Time to move on ocho.

Byron Scott Has Troubling Views on Kobe
by Cody Williams - lakeshowlife.com

"Kobe Bryant has been struggling for the Lakers, but Byron Scott’s thoughts on the situation are more troubling than anything

Kobe Bryant playing poorly to start the season for the Los Angeles Lakers isn’t something that’s even remotely secretive. At the start of his 20th year in the NBA, Kobe has been astonishingly inefficient shooting the ball and, in a broader sense, has been a ball-stopper in the offense who kills any of the scarce ball-movement in the Lakers offense.

After Bryant jacked up 22 shots in Sunday night’s loss to the Portland Trail Blazers while only converting on six of those attempts, Lakers fans couldn’t do anything but lament how harmful Kobe’s high-volume shooting has been to the greater good of the team. It’s apparent to almost everyone watching these games, except for head coach Byron Scott.

On Monday, Scott was specifically asked by the media about Kobe’s inefficient shooting and isolation-based offense and how that affects the offense as a whole. The Lakers head coach responded in possibly the most troubling manner possible, saying that Kobe had earned the right to do that:

Byron lamented Lakers' dependence on isolation vs. Blazers. But Kobe's "got 20 years in this league ... so he has that privilege. "

This is what I was talking about. Yikes...

Scott ain't the leader of that team. Kobe is. Maybe Kobe wants to tank to keep that top 3 pick. Maybe he's thinking about coaching a young team full of high draft picks in the next year or two. Because this team is not going to win 25 games this year.

Heck 25? Right now 3 would be an improvement...

Hope everyone had a safe Thanksgiving with family, I sure did...

I don't care if the Warriors break the Bulls 72 win record. But I did not want to see them break the Lakers record. Its still safe. And could be a record that stands for many, many more years. 33 in a row is tough for any sport.

Was at my wifes jobs Xmas party last night & after the Lakers lost I was following the Warriors game by phone because of their win streak, I noticed 5 or 6 other guys doing the same, when the Warriors game became final we all yelled almost simultaneously, we got some strange looks but high five'd each other to more strange looks...I was a full on Lakers fan during & before the Streak but was hooked for life that year for sure...
There were 3 Hall of Famers on that team & in the picture...

I think it's 6 - Wilt, Elgin, West, Goodrich as players and Sharman and Riley as coaches
