I read something recently that reminded me that Kroenke was screwed over by the NFL back in 1993 when he tried to get an expansion team in STL and the NFL gave the team to Carolina and Jerry Richardson instead.

From what I've read about Kroenke, he hates losing and would like nothing better than to beat Richardson. Obviously, they are none to fond of each other. It will be interesting to see if Kroenke can get some payback on Richardson this time.

Actually Max I don't think it was Richardson back in 1993. Carolina was guaranteed a franchise, the NFL really felt Charlotte was a hotbed and a former player turned owner was excellent PR. They wanted St. Louis too with Walter Payton heading the ownership group again a former player and African American was even better press and they felt strongly about St. Louis too.

However, Payton's group pulled out at the last minute and they gave St. Louis an extra month to regroup and get another money man, enter Enos Stanley Kroenke, however, back in 93 Kroenke was not as refined and the expansion committee felt he came off as a yokel and decided to go with Jacksonville because they really liked Wayne Weaver and sold it to the public by saying the southeast was an economic hotbed in the U.S. and at the time there were indicators they proved their decision to be correct.

So actually it was not Richardson, however, I do agree they don't like each other because IMO, Richardson is from the old guard they way owners used to be where their football team was the only interest they had. Kroenke is what the future will be for NFL owners billionaires and involved in so many other things including other sports. IMO, Richardson is standing by Spanos because he's more like him, whereas Kroenke is more like Jerry Jones with more money.

Kroenke and Richardson certainly are on opposite ends of the fence.

I think it won't be too long before the old guard is phased out. The value of these teams has gone up exponentially and when the big business money guys want in they usually figure out how to get in.

Kroenke has more money and more business savvy now than he did in 1993, and my guess is that he would like nothing better than to stick it to a guy like Richardson. It makes perfect sense why Spanos doesn't want to deal with Kroenke. Kroenke will eat Spanos alive if they both share Inglewood. Spanos knows that and so does Richardson.
