I’d be looking at the Lions tape from this year. I think it’s a clue into the thought process of how the Patriots would have attacked our offense if we palyed them during the regular season. I assume Matt Patricia’s defense principles are being used by the Pats?

I was at that game. My recollection is that the Lions focused on taking away the deeper passing routes and it (along with Goff being a bit off after the bye) caught the Rams off guard. Ultimately, though, we flipped the script and featured the running game (27 running plays for 151 yards and 2 TDs, 5.6 ypc).

If the Patriots employ a similar tactic, I think the Rams will pound the rock like they did against Dallas. While the Patriots have had success against the run in the playoffs, during the regular season they allowed 4.9 ypc, so I think the Rams can run on them.

I believe the maturity on the left side of the Rams Oline can win this game. Whit, Saff and Sully will dictate how well the Rams do. Blythe and Hav will need to hold their assignments this game is all Rams!

My bet is that Gurley is a monster in this game. I think the OL is very hungry and there will be none of that ridiculous Superdome type noise. They will be able to communicate and get off the ball with an edge.

The question is how much better are the Pats DL and LBs than the Cowboys? Their run defense stats are about the same. And we destroyed the Cowboys run D.

The cowboys run D looked "predictable" to me - they just didn't seem to change much - but I could be wrong. The patsies D won't be like that. I trust we will adjust accordingly throughout the game.

Its amazing how all of a sudden the Pats D is considered great.

When they weren't at home they ranked 26th in total defense. Last week they stymied the Chiefs in KC in the first half by confusing Mahomes, but Mahomes adjusted and tore them up in the 2nd half.

I still don't believe the Pats have top talent on their front 7. They are strong in the secondary, but up front they don't put pressure on the QB without blitzing, and they are susceptible to outside passes to RBs.

I'd be looking at the Bears tape. I think that Belicheat will be looking at it too. I think he will put 8 in the box with cover-1 and blitz often.

Their plan will be to stop the run and make Goff defeat them with his arm.

McVay will have to counter with power blocking to open up cutback lanes for Gurley as well as a good amount of runs to the outside.... will Goff be able to make sight adjustments for the power blocking direction?

In passing we will need bunch-formations, screens, and a jet-sweep mixed in.

The big key will be if the Rams TEs in pass plays are able to gain leverage over their defenders. And if they are successful at this in the 1st half, the 2nd half adjustments by the Patriots defense will set themselves up to be more vunerable to being gouged by C.J. Anderson.

Please, please , PLEASE ... don't put C.J. Anderson in a situation where he has to pass block.
