I sent Fred an email asking him why the owners wouldn't vote for Carson considering they'd basically be voting $40 mil into their own pockets and he read it on the air.

But he didn't mention our site, instead saying it was from "Steve" even though i signed it "[email protected]"

So much for a free mention of RFU which was half of the point.

Anyway, his answer was basically: the NFL would make a lot more money off of an expansion team as the #2 team in L.A. than from moving a 2nd existing team.

I was hoping for a stronger answer (and a little free publicity).

Didn't hear all of today's show but he did a bit comparing Spanos to Donald Sterling basically saying Spanos has gone off the rails and is bound to lose...

They would be voting to get $16M to $19M more (per owner) for 2 teams as opposed to just one.
And that doesn't seal the deal on Carson. You can still get 2 teams in Inglewood.

Maybe Roggin is a Johny Cash guy and not an Elvis guy.

I heard that during the show while I was busy doing something else. I thought "Steve" was an annoying LA Raiders fan that always posts on twitter. The Inglewood stadium will probably end up being the home stadium for two teams, but Roggin's answer would be even better for the owners in the long term.

I think the "Long Play" makes a lot of sense, and is consistent with the way these guys do think. The NFL just needs one team to setup shop, create all the infrastructure, and provide a venue for an expansion team. It's a brilliant move on the NFL's part.

Perhaps the Charaiders agree to stay where they are in exchange for a proportionately larger piece of the expansion teams' fees, and then use those proceeds to build new stadiums in their existing home markets. Makes a lot of sense.

I still don't think that the NFL wants expansion.

That was entertaining. I wonder if Spanos has a "V" in his life.
