Joe Buck 'Has a Better Feeling' About St. Louis Keeping NFL Team

Fox Sports' top play-by-play man and St. Louis native Joe Buck, who one year ago Sunday said he was "really disappointed" in Rams owner Stan Kroenke, joined The Ryan Kelley Morning After on Tuesday and discussed the latest developments surrounding the future of the NFL in St. Louis.
Buck also talked about his new talk show, "Undeniable with Joe Buck," in which he has in-depth interviews with a variety of prominent figures in the sports industry.

On his first guest, Derek Jeter:
"I didn't know him all that well. I was poking at areas I didn't know what I was gonna get back...and he was great. He had fun. He was glad he did it."
"I talked about privacy...he lived his life...in New York and went out. He was going out and having fun...but it never became an issue in the media. One of the best things that happened to him was A-Rod showed up. I (asked him about reports he makes people leave their cell phone at the front door when they come to his house so there aren't pictures taken) and he said, 'you believe that, huh? My mom believed that too. And it took me two hours to convince her it wasn't true.'"
How do you think the LA relocation saga will play out?
"I have no idea how the whole thing is going to end up. But the work that's been done by Dave Peacock and Bob Blitz (and everything that's gone into securing a team), it's been remarkable. I marvel at what Dave Peacock and those guys have done. I have a better feeling now about it than I did (several months ago)."
"I think there's a spotlight on what's going on. The spotlight shows an owner that's been detached from the fan base. A team that really hasn't been any good since he took over. And a community I think is overly supportive of the NFL considering the circumstances, willing to potentially put shovels back in the ground and build another facility. I think this football stadium...this is an opportunity (for our city to really take a leap)."
Have you caught flak for your strong statements about Stan Kroenke and the LA NFL market?
"No. I don't work for a network that doesn't allow me to have an opinion. All you do is really state the facts...LA should have football, but you have to have the right owner in LA...that cares about winning...that will get people in the gates and into the stadium. It's hard to get people off their couch. Let's look at the track record...and let's do it with the right owner."
On St. Louis having an NFL team in the future:
"I can't see with what's gone on in Oakland and what's gone on in San Diego...that if St. Louis is willing and has it lined up to build a new stadium...the NFL not being in St. Louis. Now, is that with another organization? Does expansion come into the equation? It seems the NFL is pumping the brakes a little bit...before (they just let Stan Kroenke take the Rams back to LA because he has money)."
Have you heard about the increased chance of their being an expansion team in LA?
"I've heard the word a little more recently for sure. I don't think I heard that word at all when this stuff was initially brought up. But again, it depends who you talk to. I feel there is momentum...that at least people are seeing St. Louis is serious about keeping the NFL. It seems like people are starting to realize it's just not that simple and St. Louis is a player in this thing."
On what the Rams think will happen:
"I think if you talk to (Rams COO Kevin Demoff), who's a wonderful guy and a good friend, I think he'd tell you he doesn't know how it's going to end. I don't think anybody knows. As far as reading the mood of Stan Kroenke, I think that's impossible."
