20 Random "We're Going to the Super Bowl!" Thoughts

1. SUPER BOWL, baby!!!!!!!
2. Okay, let's get this out of the way. Here's the bottom line on the missed call. Yes, it was pass interference, and yes, if it was called, the Saints probably win. However, the Refs swallowed their whistles throughout the game, most often to the Rams' detriment. If ALL of the penalties that should have been called were called, there's no guarantee that the Saints come out on top.
3. Its unfortunate that one call is getting so much attention, as the Rams did so many great things to win that game.
4. You have to start with the defense. Holding the Saints to 290 yards and 23 points, and getting a key turnover in overtime. That's how you win football games.
5. Ndamukong Suh has earned his money in the last two weeks. Some will say its a question of effort, and perhaps there is a modicum of truth to that, but I think the style of defense (greater focus on the run) is a big reason why he's suddenly showing up big.
6. Dante Fowler is proving to have been a key acquisition, and I'd like to see him in horns again next year.
7. Lamarcus Joyner almost cost us the game. Gotta play the ball better than that.
8. Todd Gurley is probably not 100%, but I wouldn't underestimate his potential to have a big game in two weeks. I'm sure Belichick won't underestimate it either.
9. The way Jared Goff fought back after a tough first quarter and lead a comeback... twice (13-0, 20-10)... well, that should be the end of any debate over whether he's the Rams' franchise QB for the foreseeable future.
10. His throws to Everett on the game tying drive, and Higbee (twice) on the game winning drive were pure clutch.
11. There is no question that we miss Cooper Kupp, but how great was it to see 149 receiving yards (and a TD) from the trio of Josh Reynolds, Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett?
12. Its also great to see old warriors like Andrew Whitworth, Rodger Saffold and John Sullivan get a chance to play in the big game.
13. Wade Phillips has done a great job coaching and adjusting in the playoffs.
14. Sean McVay's ability to change the script on the fly is also extremely impressive.
15. Michael Thomas: 4 receptions, 36 yards. How huge was that?
16. Greg Zuerlein sealed a place in the hearts of Rams fans forever.
17. Johnny Hekker is the greatest Punterback of all time (well, maybe Danny White has something to say about that, but you get my point.)
18. They say the Patriots are great at taking away the one thing opposing offenses rely upon. My question is, with this Rams team, what is that one thing? I'm not sure it exists.
19. I'll post another 20 thoughts on the Super Bowl next week but, for now...
20. LET'S ENJOY THE MOMENT!!!!!
