NFL Relocation RUMORS: Rams' Stan Kroenke May Have Votes To Block Carson Project
St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke reportedly may have the nine votes needed to block the Carson project.

The NFL relocation decision is coming soon, and lines between NFL owners are reportedly being drawn, as St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke reportedly may have the nine votes to block the competing Carson Project involving the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The Chargers and Raiders made a big move this past week when hiring Disney CEO Bob Iger to head the Carson Project, and they reportedly have support in New York Giants owner John Mara, Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, and Steelers owner Dan Rooney, according to Darin Gannt of Pro Football Talk.

The Carson project will need 24 of the 32 owners to vote to approve the move, and a decision could come as late as March. Kroenke reportedly has NFL owners aligned with him in this decision, and those owners include the Cowboys' Jerry Jones, Patriots' Bob Kraft, Redskins' Dan Snyder, Eagles' Jeffrey Lurie, Jets' Woody Johnson, Vikings' Ziggy Wilf, and Ravens' Steve Biscotti. Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown tends to abstain from such votes, making him the eighth vote to prevent the Carson project from passing, according to La Canfora. Kroenke himself makes the ninth vote, and the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers are franchises that reportedly could go either way.

While Kroenke may have enough votes to block the Carson project from happening, he has plenty of his own issues to handle with the Inglewood project. Earlier this week, the Federal Aviation Administration released a report stating that the new stadium is hazardous to air navigation.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks, as the Raiders, Chargers and Rams are all expected to apply for relocation in January.

I've read several comments from Giants owner Steve Tisch supporting Kroenke and Inglewood. Not sure how the voting would go but they seem to be split. Tisch and Mara are listed both as the clubs owner. Tisch as Chairman of the club and Mara as President. Just another interesting dynamic to this.

That is an uncomfortable amount if accurate.

Not to me, given that most of the owners are on the fence still. I expect the NFC West owners to want the Rams in LA more than St Louis for travel reasons, and most will go what everyone else is doing. Big names, Kraft and Jones behind Kroenke, the biggest name I've seen behind Carson is Richardson, and he's not close to those two.

Why would an owner oppose esk's move? Doesn't make sense, especially given the NFL's $20B rev goal.

Back your buddy Dean Spanos and double the relocation fees for starters.

Does anyone know who represents the Bears? It's not 92 year old Virginia McCasky is it?

Yes, Tisch has a better understanding of LA than Mara so when it comes to a vote I can see Tisch winning out. He's the only person to have both a an Oscar and a SB ring.

Any article saying they know the number of owners in each camp is pure BS. Its all a guess.

I have to say the whole voting yourself $40 million dollars is the #1 thing that has me nervous.

Whereas the fact that the NFL really can't tell Kroenke no if he's intent on moving is the #1 thing that has me confident.

No way only 7 owners support Inglewood and the rest Carson. This is pure media propoganda
