Another Rams marketing director quits
For the second time in 2015, a high-ranking St. Louis Rams marketing official has quit.
This time it’s Lisa Boaz, the Rams’ director of marketing and advertising, who announced she was leaving the team to become Anheuser-Busch’s manager of local sports sponsorships, effective Nov. 23.
“I’ve thought long and hard about the decision to leave such a storied organization that I love, but several pieces fell into place that I’m not sure I could have scripted,” she tweeted on Nov. 13.
Boaz effectively replaced Brian Killingsworth, the Rams’ former vice president of marketing and brand strategy who resigned at the beginning of the year. Killingsworth left the job to take a similar position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Boaz had worked for the Rams since 2008 and held several marketing roles before becoming director of marketing and advertising in January 2015.
Her departure comes at a time of uncertainty for the NFL organization, as Rams owner Stan Kroenke appears intent on moving the team to Los Angeles, where he’s planning a new $2 billion stadium.
In a statement, the Rams said: “Lisa has an outstanding opportunity with Anheuser Busch. We believe she will be a great addition to their company and we wish her all the best.”
