If Wade does not return in 2019, I have a candidate for our next DC.

Let me start by saying, in no uncertain terms, that I am NOT calling for Wade Phillips' head.
That stated, I don't think its a lock that he'll be back in 2019. It not that I see him being fired. However, if the defense continues to struggle and he starts getting more heat as a result, I could see him announcing his "retirement" at the end of the year.
Again... not a prediction, just a hypothetical.
All that said, the guy I'd keep an eye on is Don Martindale, the Ravens' current DC. He was promoted this year, and has the team playing well in a scheme that has some similarities (at least from a personnel standpoint) Wade's. The reason I think he's a candidate is that it seems that John Harbaugh is on the hot seat. If he goes, Martindale likely would as well, making him a coaching "free agent."
Just a random and probably way-too-early thought...

Well, if my neighbors can put up their Christmas lights before Thanksgiving, I certainly can talk about the 2019 offseason, right?
Okay... maybe not.

Whats wrong with putting up Christmas lights now? And waiting till February to take them down?

That is Reason to stay in Balitmore...DC to HC. He will not have future in LA.

Well, in my hypothetical, Harbaugh and his staff, including Martindale, are fired. I doubt that, in that situation, Martindale would be hired as the new HC in Baltimore, so I presume he'd be looking for work.

Ravens have decent D, don't believe they would clean house. Harbaugh is on Hot Seat, not entire Staff. IMHO !

When a head coach leaves for whatever reason his staff usually goes too. Most head coaches prefer their own guys when they take on a new job. There might be a few holdovers on occasion but its usually lower level guys. Not coordinators. McVay kept Fassel and Peete I believe.

Fassel, Peete, and assistant OL coach Andy Dickerson.
