have been looking for an alternative gameday chat room experience, one that will display better on mobile devices while also being less prone to crashing, and it's looking like the best bet is to go 3rd party.

chat room extensions / addons for phpbb software boards (which is what most forum boards run on, including rfu) just aren't that great, for a lot of reasons, and there are only a couple to choose from.

so with your help i'd like to test some 3rd party options....

i've set up the first test, it's at discordapp.com, just click the chat link in the navbar to be taken there, sign up, and let me know what you think... the site is actually for gamers, and the chat room we've set up has a ton of features (video conferencing, voice, etc., etc.) that we'll probably never use but, who knows, maybe it will come in handy down the road.

I love discord app. It works great.

I was hoping for less discord here at RFU.

Just click on the chat button and try it out.

A bit of a learning curve but I thought it was really smooth.
