stumbled across this vid re the number of teams that passed on aaron rodgers in 2005 draft, so many ineffective starting qbs the year before he was drafted, so many "smart" people involved in making draft decisions, hindsight, always 20/20.

here's a look at the guys who were taken ahead of rodgers, how long they played, pro bowl / all pro made, and who qb'd each team the prior season:

incredibly barron wasn't even the biggest flop picked ahead of rodgers, at least a couple of teams fared worse, ha ha...

Ummmmm....

I just reprised Barron’s reaction to being drafted in the first round.

Give me smart, though that doesn’t seem to be in vogue these days.

Rodgers would have been ruined long ago, had the Rams drafted him.

Too many cavemen involved.

It's the 2005 & 2006 drafts combined where the Rams made a strong effort to lead the league in knuckleheads.

2005: Barron, Incognito, and Terrell.
2006: Wroten and Byrd.

At least in 2005 they also got Atogwe and Bartell (who was decent).

In 2006 they also picked Hill, Klopenstein, and Alston (who were not decent).

Terrell is less well known that the others. This is from the wiki page:

Terrell was released by the Rams after being arrested for assaulting his wife. Terrell was already on probation after a previous arrest for assault on a family member. On February 17, 2011 Claude Terrell was accused of beating and forcing sex on a Texas City woman at gunpoint during a seven-hour ordeal.

Haha. Ok I was being tricky...

Matt Jones was a 3 year starter at QB for the Arkansas Razorbacks but blew up the combine with his 40 time and was miraculously converted to WR pre draft

Its interesting that the best quarterback on those teams the previous year was on the team that picked Rogers. I wonder if they are thinking about his future replacement right now even though he probably has several years left to play?
