I can't remember an unusual TD. 49ers seemed to have the best of the Rams in those days. If the Rams lost nothing would stick out to me 30 years later.

Well, that would be an unusual TD. I thought it might be a game a couple years earlier and there were two non offensive TD's in that one. But kickoff return and INT pick 6 aren't all that unusual.

You were the closest to 100%. The guy on the right is, in fact, Meisner (if you look at the part of the number on the back, its clearly a 6 not a 5, making the jersey number 69). Otherwise, you were right on target!

Roger Craig is the 49er in the photo who played from '83 to '89

Your crop is of a photo from the '83 season. According to the caption, the Rams won that game 16-13. However the box score doesn't agree. In '83 the game in Anaheim was a 35 - 45 Rams loss, , so that was confusing.

The other confusing thing in that shot is the players number on the right. His sleeve number in the photo looks like 59 but in the full photo the first digit on his back is clearly a 6. ??

'81 to '88 Meisner wore #69. No other #69's in the 80's ..

Mark Jerue wore #59 in '84 and again from '87 to '89. Jerry Gray #25 played from '85 to '91 in horns. Those apparently are the 4 years. Still the number on the one player tends to narrow it down to '87 to '88 (if the number is 59) . But the Rams lost both home games in those years. They also lost in '89 so that leaves "86 where Jerue, Meisner and Gray all played.

Since the Rams won that game played September 14th, 1986 the answer to your trivia question, despite the confusing number thing is . . .
