Looks like the 3 cities will be presenting to the NFL LA Committee, the Stadium Committee and the Finance Committee on November 11th.




Not sure how much overlap is on the 3 Committees. Rooney is the Chair of the Stadium Committee, and McNair is the Chair of the Finance Committee.

I can't find the list of Committee members, but looks like they changed the Chairs in 2011. Regarding the Finance Committee:

Perhaps the biggest change is that Texans Owner Robert McNair will take over as Chair of the finance committee from Saints Owner Tom Benson. Benson was viewed as a voice for the middle-market teams while in that position, while McNair is more aligned with larger markets.

Jerry Jones is on the Stadium Committee, and Kraft is on the Finance Committee.

What will Oakland present? And will this be as meaningless as the town halls?

Fred was saying the NFL wants at least one publicly financed stadium in Oakland or SD, they're worried about privately funded stadiums setting a bad precedent for owners who want and need public money...

Stadium group to meet with NFL owners next week

Members of the task force looking to build a $1 billion NFL stadium along St. Louis’ north Mississippi riverfront will present to a handful of team owners in November.

National Football League officials confirmed that representatives from St. Louis, Oakland and San Diego will present in front of a joint meeting of the Los Angeles, stadium and finance committees on Nov. 11 in New York City to discuss proposed stadium projects.

The committee, made up of six league owners and chaired by Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney III, oversees the entire relocation process as it relates to the NFL and the three teams that have expressed interest in moving to Los Angeles — the St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league expects each city to make a 45 minute presentation followed by a Q&A session with owners. McCarthy said he expects team representatives to be in the room as well.

The timing would appear to put pressure on the St. Louis Board of Aldermen to move swiftly as it determines whether to help fund the stadium with public money. A financing bill introduced to aldermen on Oct. 30 will go before the St. Louis Board of Aldermen’s Ways and Means committee next week.

Aldermen said the process could play out over several weeks. Dave Peacock, co-leader of the St. Louis stadium task force, has said a no vote or a significant delay in the process would hurt the stadium’s viability. Peacock was not immediately available for comment as he is out of the country, according to an e-mail.

Under the financing plan, first introduced last week, the city would contribute more than $233 million in bond payments, including interest. Further, the National Football League would receive about two-thirds of game-day tax revenue associated with the proposed stadium project. All public financing is contingent on a $450 million investment from the NFL and a team owner.

Interesting. So, each of the cities will present to the three NFL Committees and the Team Reps will also be present. I wonder if that means Davis, Demoff and Fabiani or if Kroenke and Spanos will also attend.

Could be a lively meeting!


And - to answer Elvis' question from above: I think these meetings are just checking another box same as the town hall meetings and likely don't have much impact. They have to invite all three to present as part of the process. What's Oakland gonna say for 45 minutes?

Actually seems to me like things are finally getting serious.

This might be the last time the cities do their little presentations. I doubt they'll be invited to the owner meetings next month and highly doubt in January.
