Mark Barron: Is it Time to Move On?

I love his passion for the game but his roster spot could come in handy with injuries starting to mount.

How long can the Rams afford to keep him when he is not able to contribute?

Good post. I agree completely. I thought Barron played well as an ILB but he's been overpaid for a couple years now IMO. I just don't see him being worth 9 mil at this point.

If you think he's going to come back and play like he did last year, you keep him. If you don't... you probably put him on IR.

I didn't mean as in cut him now, I was talking the end of the season.

Yeah... I think that would be under consideration, no matter what. Tough choices ahead.. but I think Littleton makes it a little easier to move on. You know one position is solid.

Good point. Littleton has become a great find.

HIs salary is guarenteed 100% this year (he re-negotiated cash or something). So, cutting him in-season doesn't save any money against the cap. Come playoffs, I hope he and Talib are ready.

I agree he is at the top of the list of potential “chopping block” players for next offseason. This season, though, he can be an important contributor if he gets healthy.

We're sure making up for last years lack of injuries. Law of averages I guess. Hope the bug stops here and we are at full strength when the games matter even more...

But, based on him actually practicing a little this week... I’m guessing next game.

As long as we keep winning, there is no rush. I DO think he will be a massive addition to the D - but only if 100% healthy. Having him 100% for the stretch run would be the best case scenario in my book - regardless of when the start point is. Obviously, the off season surgeries were quite significant. I hope he returns to form at least for this season - for him and the Rams. This season is gonna be special!

Agree completely. The dude can flat out ball, when healthy.
