The Chargers amended the lease in 2003 and if you go back it was said the the team was going to be a free agent in 2008. Most of the PD posters just started following the story a year ago so they don't have any clue what went on prior to that. I also included an article with quotes from Marc Ganis, someone who is often quoted over at Rams Talk, on how fair the Rams proposal was for arbitration.

"This appears to be a logical, feasible plan that's meant to get a positive result," said Ganis, president of the Chicago-based SportsCorp Ltd., consulting firm. "This isn't a pie-in-the-sky plan designed to get to an impasse... It looks to me like a sincere effort to get a deal done."

2K'08 was when their deal expired,, coinsidentally right around the time gf departed us. Both the Rams and Chargers had the same time table. ESK just bankrolls bigger and faster.

Do any of you guys have access to the actual lease? There's nothing worse than seeing people argue about lease interpretation without being able to look at the actual document itself.

No, It was available early on but no longer.

Yeah you could tell the one idiot who chimed in that the Dome lease wasn't broken is a member of a board or two we all know and a gulag contributor to the Post Dumpsite.
