Week 7 Browns @ Rams

Are we going to have a season? We find out on Sunday!

Game Time: Sunday, October 25th at 1pm EST on CBS

Rams 2-3
Browns 2-4

We are only ahead of the Browns because we had a bye last week.

TV Map: http://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2015&wk=7
Only the two small local markets.

Rams are favored by 5.5 with a 42 over/under.

Commentators: Brian Anderson, Adam Archuleta

I learned something I did not know about the Browns when they played in San Diego - they bark as their team chant. Wolf wolf wolf!

Ok, short but sweet - if the Rams are going to be good then we MUST beat the teams we should beat and that is Sunday.

Opponent's Fan Forums

Gotta love Browns fans. They’ve been through as bad as us, so if they are Browns fans still….love to them. Some of their comments are just delightful (as you can see in the other thread). Plus, they are hilarious about Manziel. Enjoy!

They have a Browns v Rams Trivia thread - some great questions!

The trivia thread is kinda fun. Here are the questions for us - info is from the link in my OP.

1. A. What is the overall regular season head to head record between the Browns and the Rams?
B. What is the head to head postseason record?

2. How many above .500 record years did the Cleveland Rams have?

3. The Rams have retired the number of one player that played with the Cleveland Rams. What player and what number?

4. What player that led the Rams in passing one year also played for the Browns?

5. What player that led the Rams in rushing one year also played for the Browns?

6. What player that led the Rams in receiving a couple of years also played for the Browns?

7. How did the Rams get their name?

8. The Cleveland Rams, ironically, were in the same division as the original St. Louis NFL franchise. What was the name of that team?

9. What true American icon personality was at one time a part owner of the Rams?

10. What was the one important condition set by the NFL to allow the Rams to relocate to the west coast and LA? (besides bringing in money?)

11. St. Louis was actually Georgia Frontiere's second choice when it came do to the decision to move her team. What city was her first choice?

12. The Rams play in the Edward Jones Dome. What was the original name of that building?

Here's what Brownie fans are saying about this weeks match-up.

Gurley will run all over the D, McCown will throw 2 ints, get sacked 5 times, but throw for 300 yds!!!
Rams 27 Factory 13!!!

Rams will beat this team down next Sunday...oh boy.

Todd Gurley will run for 250 yards on the outside of our defense

2 and 5 ...Coming right up.

oh great....McCown chokes when he faces a pressure front. And the Rams DL and LB'ers are legit.
28-7 Rams.

Fisher is a coach who always squeezes the most out of his questionable personnel. I would actually love to have him in Cleveland.

If things hold true to form I could see the Rams winning something like 20 - 3 but it won't be nearly as close as the score indicates.
I think they kill us running the ball 35 + times and sack McCown 6 or 7 times. Maybe we get a pick or a fumble and manage a FG but I have a feeling the just grind us down with the run game and hold the ball all game long.
Good things get easier the following week against Arizona

The Rams may not have to throw a pass

The rams are a nightmare match up for the Browns.
The Broncos were a good match up on paper.
This one could get ugly if they can't stop Gurley.

Can't run, can't stop the run.
Against the Rams, that will be amplified by 1,000.
Todd Gurley will ream the Browns a new a-hole. And MClown will spend the day picking turf out of his facemask.

Gurley will be in all of my Fanduel lineups.

Todd Gurley will run for 250 yards on the outside of our defense

Todd Gurley may have 200 yards rushing against the Browns defense.
The Rams have a very underrated defense. I think we lose this one handily.

Gurley might challenge the single game rushing record against this defense

Because the Rams have a very good front 7 and will pressure mcown and he doesn't do well when pressured.
They are also physical on the POA up front and could slow down the running game and short stuff the browns thrive on.
And they can run the ball. This kid is the real deal Holyfield - Hilman ran for a buck ten against us.
This kid gets to a corner and it's a big gain.

He will have 200 yards BY HALFTIME.

It appears that our D and TGII are no secret. The Rams are once again feared. At least in Cleveland. BTW, this was 97% of the posts in that pre game thread. lol

This belongs in here.

Yards per Play:

On offense we're tied with Cleveland at 12th, 5.5 yards per play.

On defense though, we're 7th giving up 5.3 ypp while Cleveland is 28th giving up 6.0.

So, no surprise to anyone, our defense (and Cleveland's lack of defense) should be the difference in the game...

Fezzik's latest power rankings:

http://pregame.com/pregame-forums/f/9/t/1328253.aspx

The 1st column is my rating the beginning of the year
2nd column last week's rating.

3rd column the current rating as of 10/21
4th column is home field edge if not 3

(0 means average team. -2 means two points worse than average. 2 means two points better than average. Starting point for spread is difference between numbers plus home field.)

BUFFALO assumes Taylor returns

UPGRADE Pittsburgh +7 when Big Ben returns

UPGRADE Dallas +6 when Romo returns

Sept 5
Start of Yr 13-Oct 20-Oct HFA
Arizona 0.5 5 4.5 3.5

Chicago -6 -6.5 -6 2
Cincy 2.5 5 6.5 3.5

St. Louis -1 0 1 2
Tampa -6 -7.5 -6.5 2
Ten -5 -3 -5 2
Wash -6 -3 -5 2

Pit +5 with Healthy Big Ben
Dallas +4 with Romo
Buf asssumes Taylor will play

So, Rams at +1, Cleveland at -3.5 plus the 2 point home field advantage = Rams by 6.5

Actual spread: Rams by 5.5, a little value (according to Fezzik) in taking the Rams...

Here's Wagoner's article on this topic:

Rams conscious of how Austin Davis can help Cleveland

Such is the case Sunday when the St. Louis Rams play the Cleveland Browns and signal-caller Austin Davis. Rams coach Jeff Fisher acknowledged Wednesday that his team has to at least be cognizant of what Davis might be able to offer the Browns in the form of clues on what the Rams are trying to do.

“Yeah, I mean, he’s gone against this defense for a number of years now, and he knows this offense very well," Fisher said. "So, we’re mindful of that and you have to make adjustments. But, players have to play. They have to play.”
