When the League suggests something then it's usually best for an owner to to listen. The tale of two past owners Modell and Behring one listened and got to move, the other ended up selling the team a few months later.

Like i said the other day maybe it will take one of Deano's strongest allies to deliver the message: work it out

This certainly seems right. The idea that Spanos could hold the NFL hostage never made much sense and was always, most likely, Fabiani spin.

Just a few months ago, Deano donated $500,000 to UCSD for the new Alex G. Spanos Athletic Performance Center. Sure, you can say that's pocket change, but his Dad's name is on the project.

He's part of that community and, to me, he obviously wants to stay down there. I think his kids were born and raised down there too. I've read stuff that Deano is emotionally torn about moving/staying and I'm buying into that narrative. I don't think Deano can move the Chargers and not alienate people who he's bonded with for decades. Moving would be "betrayal" and "abandonment" to the people of SD. He can't move the Chargers and still be part of that community, and I think he knows it AND I think it matters to him. (Stan is IDGAF about that stuff)

Some of you may have dealt with certain people (of a particular gender) who were emotionally torn -- well-wishers would give solid advice, they would be told things that they needed to do and in the end, the emotionally torn person ended up doing nothing. I get the feeling that Deano is like that.

Again, disclaimer: I've had no recent stays in a Holiday Inn.

I hear he's getting ready for the NFL draft. Yeah, he's supposed to be part of the Mr. Irrelevant festivities.

Scott Kaplan has said he's heard Dean's kids strongly want to stay and Dean is telling them he wants to stay too but they might have to leave.

There are so many good reasons for The Chargers to stay in SD and why Carson is somewhere between a bad location and a fraud that i still see this as a bluff.

But, i also did not stay in a Holiday Inn...
