Brighter Side...not the typical Off Season

At least Ram Fans can take solace in a few regular off season needs that have been stressful in the past.
No Head Coach search!
No QB search, or huge trades to get one!
Now a legitimate destination for Free Agents
Draft pundits can stove it on tearing the team a part leading up to the draft.
On the flip side there are always improvements to be made.
Just think it's nice having realistic goals instead of relying purely on hope.

They finally have something to build off of. A solid foundation. A direction. And as you said, not as many holes to fill. Specific ones. This draft and the FA period is going to be fun this off season.

I have been thinking the exact same thing.
The existing team and its location is going to make a big difference attracting the right FAs. We wouldn't have McVay if the team was still in St Screwus.
Watching another draft without 7-9 controlling and allowing Snead to do his job will be very telling of how we draft for the next few years.
A few contracts will get settled which is also important moving forward. The sooner the better.

FA and the draft feel like a bonus to what has happened this past year. Snead can cement his position this year if he nails this draft.

Filling holes is not as important as re-signing our own free agents. We need to make sure we get Joyner, Robey-Coleman locked up. I want to see Sullivan return. Watkins too. Donald needs to be extended. Would be nice to have Tru Johnson back. Not sure we could replace his contribution in free agency. Hill's improvement was a nice surprise tho. If we can't get it done with Tru, Hill and Webster aren't bad options at the corners. Easley might come cheaper due to his injury. I'd wouldn't mind seeing him back. Would give us more depth there.
Then there are decisions to be made on current contracts. Is Quinn's production on par with his salary? We know Austin's isn't. I can't see him returning in a Rams uniform at his current pay.
As far as holes to fill. We do need an edge rusher or two. We could use some more beef in the front seven. Run defense was not good overall. Probably could use some depth on the O-line too. Staying injury free for a whole season is unusual. I don't think we could count on that again.
All in all, we don't have near as many holes to fill. If we found a way to bring back most the current guys that would keep us competitive. Its a nice change from all the needs of the past.

We are a playoff team striving for the Super Bowl...as opposed to a POS that can't get out of the toilet.
