if the rams lose and the saints win, and should the #1 seed eagles, and #2 seed vikings fall..

the NFC championship will be played in louisianna...

the rams must win the game against the 49'rs or risk losing the #3 position...

A loss to the farty whiners is inexcusable. This is a playoff game, hopefully it will be over by halftime and they can rest the starters.

Bay Area media is already claiming playoffs next year for 49ers. Considering the turnaround this year for the RAMS, I can't rip them for thinking that way. This game has meaning for the playoffs, and putting a temporary halt to positive 49er vibes around here would be wonderful.

Sweeping the niners is always sweet and hasn't happened much lately. Do it now.

Rams might be resting/holding out starters if their seeding (currently #3) is mathematically set, which is a very good chance since they lost to both the Eagles and Vikings...gotta pounce on them early like with the Jags and pretty much knock out their enthusiasm for the game

Dam right we do. If Jimmy continues this he can be a top 5 or top 3 QB in the entire nfl.

So basically, if Philly wins the Xmas game against the Raiders they lock up a bye, and if Minnesota beats the Bears in an early game next week, theyll lock the other bye. So if those 2 things happen, we'll face a Rams team that is resting starters.

Man, this is crazy. I can't believe that we've won 4 in a row. I just can't believe it. I almost feel that we can compete with just about anyone.
You add that to some good draft pics, and a crapton of people coming off of IR next year, and next year looks promising.
Ugh - I'm probably going to get crap for this, but I just wish that our players would stop kneeling.

For once we have to be favourites going into a game this year but it wont be a push over against the Rams this year. It will be a tough game.

Want the win to get to 6-10 and have that "cusp of something great" feeling heading into next season...1980 Niners were 6-10—it's like the launching board record to get to.
Also, put the NFCW champ placeholders on notice for 2018...

Here's what really pisses me off about how week 17 is unfolding from a draft perspective:

The Vikings play in the morning against the Bears (who we want to win for draft position) - they have something to play for (number 2 seed and first round bye) so will play all their starters to secure that win in the morning slate of games. So Bears will lose, hurting our draft position and Vikings will secure the number 2 seed.

The Rams have the luxury of playing after that game, will see the score and will immediately rest the bulk of their impact starters (Goff, Gurly, and Donald) since they have nothing to play for. This will give us an easy win against backups that no one wants and will likely drop us 3-4 spots in the 1st round.

Why in the world does the NFL not adjust kickoff times to avoid these scenarios. Seems extremely unfair from both a draft and playoff perspective.

I second that. Let him get reps with an reinvigorated team. f**k 2017, bring on 2018.

Jimmy G is far superior to what many experts thought he could be this soon.

Start: Beathard, DJ Jones, McCaffrey, Bourne, Elija Lee, and Pita... maybe give some reps to Williams our swing tackle.
Don't: start all our starters to win a meaningless game against the Rams backups and drop 3-4 spots in the draft
