so is the rams defense legit? the unit held seattle's offense to just 17, pittsburgh's high flying offense offense to just 12, arizona's high flying offense to 22, and washington's offense to just 17 through 3 quarters and 12 minutes of play, before an exhausted d finally gave up 7 with 3 minutes remaining in the game, in fact the rams are the 7th stingiest defense through 3 quarters of football in terms offensive points allowed... all told the rams defense has held opponent offenses to an average of just 18.9 points per game...

looking at the packers, their offense has been relatively human when facing top 10 defenses (points allowed) dating back to 2014.. in the 7 games they've faced top 10 defenses their offense has averaged just 18.9 points per game, against defenses outside of the top 10, 15 in all, their offense has averaged a whopping 31.5 points per game. that's the good news, assuming the rams are a legit top 10 defense. the bad news is the pack offense has averaged just 14.5 points per game against top 10 defenses on the road, but 24.7 against top 10 defenses at home.

Can we score 25 pts against these guy in Wisconsin? And how many of those pts does the Offense need to score?

So, if the Rams are 13th in ppg why is this a topic? Shouldn't it read "Packers vs. top 13 defenses"?

"7th stingiest defense through 3 quarters of football"? What kind of stat is that and what point are you trying to make with it? That the Rams don't know how to finish?

wouldn't it be great to see a breakout game by the offense, a lot of offensive points to compliment a strong defensive showing? a 2014 oakland-style laugher? i guy can dream, no? :D but the bleak reality is the rams have scored 25 or more offensive points just 12 times in 84 tries dating back to 2010, and just 9 times in 52 tries since fish has been calling the shots... apparently the offensive point gods believe the rams saw more than their fair share circa 1999-2001.

The biggest thing going against the Rams is their penchant for falling flat after a big win. Time after time, after being the underdog and winning, the next game they lose big, and that's just the situation the Rams are in going into Lambeau. Until I see something different, I expect the Rams to get their asses handed to them, just like in Washington, with Rogers having a big day shredding the Rams secondary. Knocking off two playoff teams back to back is not something the Rams have done in a long, long time. Do they have it in them? Probably. Putting two good wins together is the one single thing the Rams need to do to put themselves back into the playoffs. If they play at the same level they played against Ariz. they have a chance. Their history says they'll play like they did in Washington.

The Rams are a top ten defense some days. But not usually after a big win. Not sure what to expect tomorrow. I know the Packers offense will move the ball. But how often will they get it in the endzone? And how much will the offense score?

That whole on/off thing bugs me. I can understand losing road games in Green Bay. But losing to Washington? And losing at home against a Ben-less Steelers in the 2nd half? Thats not a playoff team. Thats a 7 win team. Just like all the others.
