Tavon Expendable

IF you take Tavon out of the first three games, the RAms still have the same success. He doesn't seem like a wr. Just a gadget player, and I always thought he could be made into a wr. However, he never goes vertically, like on returns he's afraid of contact. He runs around like a rabbit, but never follows blocks well. Looking at the way McVay uses him, I think he only does it to involve him, but with so many contracts coming up, I don't see him as a primary cog and I hoped he would be. Kupp is better at this point, other wr are...Tavon isn't doing squat. And I love Tavon. Thoughts?

With the Rams signing Woods, trading for Watkins, and drafting Kupp and Reynolds, he's obviously very expendable. With the amount of money he's making, it's extremely unlikely that he's be with the Rams next year. It won't cost the Rams that much (in terms of the cap), if they cut him in the offseason.

Time to trade tavon, get a draft pic for him. He cant hang on to the ball.

2 fumbles lost in 3 weeks on punt catches.
Not a vertical runner. Always dancing to stay away from defenders who might be exhaling and knocking him down.
Stupid contract and drafted by Fisher.
I think it's curtains for him.

He’s a good decoy. Those fake jet sweeps opens up lanes for Gurley.

This is true but he's a $40MM decoy. He's still a threat in those situations so he does have value. D's have to respect his speed.

Not worth the jack so I really think he's about to be an NFL'er. Not For Long around here.
Plus we have so many other guys who can do good things.

He needs to start becoming relevant by actually gaining yards,, and dropping punt's.

I know i'm in the minority but i'm not writing Tavon off yet, not with McVay running things.

Notice how they used him as a decoy like 5 times before giving him the ball for a near TD? McVay is thinking ahead...

no doubt about it... he's definitely sunk in the wr depth chart tho, only played 15 of 67 offensive snaps last night, only 9 of 50 the week before, and only 7 of 65 in week 1... it will be interesting to see if mcvay will feature tavon in an upcoming game, in an effort to throw a creative wrinkle into the mix, give him a bunch of wr snaps, but that seems doubtful if the offense continues to roll as is...

in other news, i'm guessing everett was played very sparingly last night because of his dings? in game one he played 29 (45%) snaps, game two 16 (32%) snaps, and last night just 11 (16%) snaps... man, i really want to see much more of everett in the near future.

Not unlike the GSOT, a lot of weapons and an offense intent on using all of them...
