Charger Exploring StubHub Permanent Stay?
PostPosted:7 years 9 months ago
As many of you know, I live in Carson, just blocks from the StubHub Center and Carson City Hall. I know people who work there, and I also have coffee in the morning on occasion with members of the City Council.
I've been told the Chargers Management is exploring the possibility of staying at the StubHub Center and making it their permanent home. Those ways include how to expand the seating there. These talks are in the infant stages, but its apparent Chargers owner and president Dean Spanos and Son, aren't happy with sharing Kroenke's stadium when it's completed.
I've been told the Chargers want to see how well attendance goes this season for their home games, and if they sell out all of them, they will go forward. It's worth noting that Charger tickets for their home games are 3 to 4 times more that for Ram games. This Sundays game vs the Dolphins the cheapest seat is 120$ (end zone corner) 50 yd line 720$$, (according to vividseats.com)
I started hearing this rumor last year before the Chargers even moved from San Diego. I gave it about the same credence as the Carson Landfill Stadium rumor. Who knows, it may be just talk, but I keep hearing bits and pieces and more and more often from people who would know.
I would love to see this happen. How would Kroenke and the NFL front office like this?
