Another game where he did not have a 100 yard rushing game. Will Gurley ever get that elusive 100+ yard game again? Just wondering.

I think he'll be fine. He had a couple of nice runs called back by holding. As teams start scheming for the passing game, more holes will open. I bet we'll see a 100 yard game soon.

Yeah, I noticed on a couple runs a safety was right there in the mix of tacklers. Tells me they were probably cheating up close for the run. When Goff makes them pay for it I imagine they will back off. If they don't back off Goff will have some nice games. I'd rather the QB have a stellar game than the RB if you can only have one.

In a game like that one, you just expect the RB to break the will of an overmatched defense and it never seemed like Gurley got going. A good run here and there but it wasn't a case of the Rams just pounding and pounding and wearing down the defense. The Colts, as bad as they were, still stymied the Rams' running game.

Which is concerning to me because if the Rams can't establish a running game vs. the lowly Colts, it makes it hard to think they'll be able to do it against good teams.

Of course, I have decades of Rams watching fueling my skepticism.

One of the many things I love about this team (so far) is how they clearly seem to adjust. Last year, Gurley would have run 20 straight in to the abysss with no change. I loved how they loosened things up with some screen passes to him, got him out in space. Gurley may not be the back he appeared to be in his first 4-5 games, but he sure can be a weapon.
Kudos to the staff for making the most of it

The NFL is a passing league and the Rams, after one game anyway, appear to be able to pass the ball and score touchdowns.

Todd Gurley had 56 receiving yards...

Gurley ran hard when it was needed most. That TD run was a thing of beauty and shows the power Gurley has. You also have to take into account that this was basically the first game where Gurley was able to go full speed with this OL. It historically takes a couple of weeks for the running game to get into sync. Look across the league and you will see that overall Rushing was down in week one and that is NORMAL. If by week 4, Gurley is still averaging less than 3.5 yards per carry, then I will be concerned, until then, non-story.

I like of most of us tend down grade what the Colts do well. They have one of the TOP interior run stoppers in J Hankins and HE did his job. Let's not get to down on the OL and TG just yet.
