Some Highlights From JT's Chat

Who will the starting center be Sunday?

I'd be very surprised if it's not Tim Barnes.

Do you think the Rams would have been better long term compared to what has played out if they won SB36?

Of course. For one, I think it strengthens the Hall of Fame candidacies of Pace, Warner, Bruce, and Holt. The impact that loss had on Mike Martz, and on the Martz relationship with Jay Zygmunt, was significant.

Hey Jim, Out here in CA, there is more chatter locally about the Rams and Chargers joining forces and possibly teaming up in Inglewood. The Raiders continue to remain quiet and offer very little info. Any insight on your end?

I may have something on that topic later this week.

jim I bring my family out to 1 game every year since the rams moved to st. louis, we picked the steelers game this year good pick?

If you like being surrounded by Steelers fans, it is.

% that Kroenke speaks to St. Louis (reporters, beat writers) this year?

Same percentage as will I see a pig fly past my window here in the Rams Park media room.

Make a guess on Sunday's attendance?

43,750 tickets distributed.

Anything new concerning the game day experience this year that Rams fans should be alerted to? (for example, any new stadium food items that you're excited about?)

I believe the concession lines will be shorter this year.

Jim, So how many people is Kroenke going to put out of work this year if he gets to leave? Team personnel, game day NFL staff, dome staff, security, concessions and ushers, parking garage attendants, neighborhood bars and restaurants?

There's no doubt it will have a ripple effect, although I can't give you a number. On a related note, I just heard of another Rams Park employee taking another job (i.e. leaving the team) because of the uncertainty of the move. (And not wanting to move to L.A.)

What a bitter pill Kronke has given St. Louis to swallow. All in the name of greed. When is having several billion dollars not enough? What is he thinking?

Money. Money. Money. Money.

Looks like Spygate is back in the news. Any comment on Martz's interview from ESPN's "Outside the Lines"?

A few years back, Mike told me that he was asked/encouraged by league to come up with a statement basically exonerating the league in its investigation. To this day he is haunted by that Super Bowl loss, and a part of him just wanted it to go away. Anyway, he swore me to secrecy, and I respected that. That's how you work sources. You have to develop their trust, and vice versa. Also, at that time, I think he was still hoping to get back in the league, and maybe he didn't want to say anything at the time that might hurt those chances. So I was surprised he went public. It could be however that he now realizes he's not getting back in the league, so what the heck, why not go public? Now as for the part where he told ESPN that his statement was altered _ that's the first I've heard of that.

Hello Jim. It was truly embarrassing that the Rams had so low of a turn out for their two preseason games. I fear many fans think the Rams are already gone. I know it's only preseason, but most teams in the league had strong attendance, especially Oakland and San Diego. Are we playing into Kroenke's hands?

Listen, I understand why. But yeah, pretty much.

With Mr. Peacock showing confidence in the stadium plan why aren't you?

I didn't say I'm not confident in the St. Louis plan, I'm just looking at the big picture. Keep in mind too, at least to this point the NFL is doing nothing but encouraging all the parties involved in the Relocation Follies. There will come a point when that stops.

What are the chances the NFL has already made their decision on the LA move and all of this stuff is just a smoke screen?

Zero.

JT is an LA troll. Interesting the comment he may have something to offer later this week when asked about the rumors in LA of a Rams/Chargers coalition and the Raiders continued quietness.
