Not much about the preseason O that excites me. As for the regular season, the brightspots will be seeing Gurley and watching a handful of sucessful lateral screens to Tavon - whose talents will largely be wasted again.I've pretty much stopped posting at ROD, 'cause I feel like I'll get accused of being a debbie downer. The only other thing I'm now excited about is the Rams moving back to LA -- tried mentioning that at ROD, and got the big finger wag, so didn't mention again.Quite honestly, in hindsight, I'm now wondering whether SK hired Fish in large part because he knew Fish had successfully managed a big team move. My guess is SK will make a HC change one-year after moving into the Coliseum, and the season before moving to Inglewood. This is one HC change that I'm most definitely looking forward to.Am I being realistic, or am I just depressed? New HC. New L.A. Stadium. After all the years of losing and not seeing any significant improvement that's a bit discouraging. However when the real games begin and the intensity rises, we have to hope that the Rams skill sets rise and get put on display. Our D and special teams are usually quite good. I can see with Gurley and Foles, our offense will be a bit fun to watch. My main concern is Cig's and his ability to read and react. He needs to counter and make adjustments un like his predecessor. I don't think he has the vision or the mindset to hire an OC who can create an offensive machine capable of a playoff run. So, ultimately, we share the same concern about Cig. Although i think you can go to the playoffs with dominant D. and not a lot else.Remember when Fish/Schott briefly went with the spread? Well the defense wasn't playing well early in 2013 and when asked what was wrong with the defense, Fisher said we need to run the ball more. I've always thought if the defense was playing better we would've stuck with the spread longer than we did.And when asked if he would use the hurry-up more often since it seemed to be effective, he said no, that it led to quick 3 and outs which could put the defense in bad situations. It's seems pretty clear to me that one of the things Fisher thinks about is how can the offense help his defense. So again, seems like this team is going to rise or fall on its defense... Thats a unique position to be in for a 4th year coach who hasn't had a winning season yet. Drafting linemen and a possible star running back who happens to be coming off an injury and needs time. Nothing they've done looks like they want to win now. I think we're gonna have to be patient and wait one more year. It ain't easy. But for me, it's roots are with Fish.I've felt that way about Fisher for a while now. All 3 might be out of the league next year. Due to age and bad play.I remember a time during the season last year when we all said "man if this team only had a good QB" let's not forget that. This year there's no excuses. Foles is solid. This team should contend for the division and wild card playoff spot. Which might happen to be their first year in LA. I wouldn't be surprised if Stan assured Fisher his job is safe this year and he can make moves toward the future rather than now.
