He did not seem strong enough at the point of attack and got pushed back often when a guy was on his nose. Now I did think he improved as the preseason progressed, however, IMO, I don't think he was strong enough and that was one of his areas of opportunity when he came out of Alabama.

The foot injury set him back and then when he tried to get up to speed, he had a set back and hurt his back trying to get stronger. IMO, Barnes is stronger and although they were really close, IMO, the fact that Barnes had a tad more experience and no issues snapping the ball led them to cut Jones.

They kept Rhaney because of his versatility Boudreau is big on versatile linemen and Rhaney showcased some ability to play Guard too. All in all, iMO, the future Center is in college like Dan Volz of Wisconsin the Rams scouted Havenstein so IMO they probably got to see plenty of Voltz who has a great name for a center!

It amazed me how long it took these coaches to figure out who the Center is. Infuriating.

Then they swap a rookie 3rd round OG at the last second from one side of the line to the other and are unfazed by the lack of continuity.

And GRob looks dazed out there. He just looks awkward to me. I fear that he doesn't have the head or football IQ for this game.

I expect this OL to be a disaster on Sunday. Hope I'm wrong.

I really want to disagree with this and point to reasons why. But I honesty can't disagree at all.
I wish I had something to ease concern with more that the "it's only preseason" tag line.

I've been known as gloom this who preseason, but I'm hoping I'm wrong too. My hope is that with Saffold at RG and Brown at LG things will settle down. Barnes is very good snapping the football and that was an issue for Wells last season. IMO, it might be a tad rocky early, but once they some plays under their belt I feel they will get better.

Agreed on GROB, he needs to improve because quite frankly I felt Darrell Williams showed much more upside as the LT.

Now that the positions are set they'll get solid reps together preparing for Seattle. The line will look better than it did. Our depth or lack of will not be utilized as much so the team showing Sunday will be better than we saw over the last few weeks. Going against a SB contender will be a tough challenge but I'm not hearing glowing reports out of Washington either. They are still living in a culture of winning and that will help them though.

Let's go 2-0 vs the Washington's and get some momentum.

All this agita over the offense on a team that's returning nearly all of its starters and backups on defense, added Ayers and Fairley and has a real chance to be dominant.

I'm gonna keep saying it until it's clear i'm wrong: This team will go as far as its defense takes it.

As for picking an Oline and sticking with it for continuity. Clearly that's how a lot of us see it but not how the coaches see it. And that's why preseason is such a bad barometer for how the season will play out.

The coaches aren't looking at the same things we are in the preseaon. They're using these meaningless games to use various combinations, work on very specific things, etc. Doesn't mean everything's going to be great, considering history and who our coaches are i'm not expecting a lot form our offense. But i don't think i learned much, if anything, from watching the preseason games...
