Well, I'm sure there's a certain judge who would say that San Diego is
adjacent to Los Angeles . . . .
Well, my serious response would be that the relocation talk has caused a slight buzz for the Chargers such that local KCBS anticipates better than previous ratings in the LA market. Nothing more than that. The marketing people probably forecast a Chargers relocation, and more buzz for the Chargers, as more likely than a Raiders relocation.
But unseriously, if I were to put on my tinfoil hat and pick up the crack pipe I'd say CBS
knows the Chargers are coming and the Raiders are not. Alternately unseriously, this is the league trying to help Spanos preserve "his" market (just ask him, he'll tell you it's his

) while they give Stan a one year headstart in Inglewood -- in other words, Spanos has said he wants to enter the LA at the same time as the other team for marketing, etc., but the league wants to move Stan first and wants to give Spanos 1 more year to work it out in SD -- by getting KCBS to carry all these games (this year and next year), the league is trying to keep the Chargers prominent and relevant in the LA market (and pump up their prominence) to get Spanos to accept the 1 year delay and try to minimize any marketing prejudice caused by a one year delay.
/hat and pipe removed.
Edit: Fine, I was typing before seeing that earlier response there from BRT
