For me, I'm a little scared. His age may be part of it. Hell, I graduated High School before McVay was born. That was 1985. Of course I will give our new coach a chance, but I'm cautious. I wanted the Shanahans, but again, I will give McVay a chance, even though I'm scared giving the reigns to a young kid.

I'm good with it, maybe Norv Turner for O.C.

SMcV seems like a very sharp kid with a pedigree and more experience than other coach's his age.

Don't forget the coach we just fired was born long before you graduated. Experience doesn't always mean you're smarter or in this case a better fit, , now.

Still he is very young so of course the schools still out. Fingers crossed....

It was posted here that McV and NV call different systems. That would make NV a bad fit.

Denver didn't even want Shanny. They wanted Joseph instead.

Why didn't you want Joseph?

Absolutely love it! Shanahan scared me only slightly less than McDaniels did, I didn't want either because of their personality and their past failures. McVay seems to be putting together a nice coaching staff and I'm very much looking forward to this off season!

I've posted a few times that they don't run the same system and aren't a great fit. Also McVay has said he'll be calling the plays. Does anybody think that a veteran and successful coach like Norv would stand for that? Expect McVay to bring in a somewhat experienced OLine coach and groom him and Wes Phillips both for their futures by learning under him.

There's a lot to be happy and excited about with McVay. There's a lot to be hesitant and concerned about. Like everybody else, I will pass judgement when there's something to pass judgement on. For now, though, I will continue to be excited for the future. This is January. There's a lot of time to go and a lot of things to happen before we play again, even in preseason. So I'll just let things play out, but for now, there are many reasons to feel optimistic. I'll be VERY interested to see how they fill the OC, QB coach, and O-line coach positions. Those 3 will all be critical hires.
