A new fanbase

Interesting thought. With the Chargers coming to LA, I actually think we now have a great opportunity to further increase our fanbase. There are now a lot of lost ex-Chargers fans looking for a new team. A Charger fan switching to the Raiders doesn't seem likely ( but there will be some because the Raiders are winning). Some will revert back to the team of their childhoods if they were a transplant, some will drop the NFL but some will probably look to the Rams as the next closest team to start rooting for, especially if it makes Spanos look bad. If I am the Rams, I am adding the SD market today to the marketing efforts.
The Rams have had a pretty suspect PR strategy since arriving home. It's like they are stuck in that STL midwest, smaller market mentality and it had bitten them in the ass repeatedly. The first year back in LA clearly did not go as scripted. What should have been a triumphant return home became the butt of way too many jokes. All that being said, the Chargers are even worse when it comes to PR and it is going to be almost impossible to overcome because I do not think they truly understand what their perception is in LA and now what their perception is in SD. How do you build excitement for a product with 1) a fanbase that doesn't really want you and 2) a fanbase that you just abandoned after 50+ years of loyalty and is probbaly looking to other teams?
So lets make sure we welcome our fallen brothers and sisters. All are welcome in the Ramily.
