Week 14: Falcons @Rams

Game Time: Sunday, Dec 11th at 1:25pm PST on Fox.

Rams: 4-8
Falcons: 7-5

So, it is Week 14 and the Rams are not yet mathematically eliminated from the play-offs. This is better than 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011…ok, it’s not really better. Well, except for those two lovely little letters: LA.

After facing Brees and Brady on the road, Goff gets to return home. Of all the stupid things the announcers say, I did like the one who said Goff used to play them in Madden, now he is on the field with them. I believe he will grow to best them. He’s our boy.

Welcome home Goff. And I hope our D puts the ice on Matty.

Go Rams!

Rams are 6 point underdogs with a 45. over/under. Btw, I’m getting tired of always looking for Los Angeles in the right column. Next year, hope for some left columns.

TV Map: Only the local markets. Well, and San Diego. But I will be at the game, so Fox can’t re-schedule me to a “better” game right as I’m watching this week. Yay.

Opponent’s Fan Forums

Atlanta is in a battle with 7-5 Tampa for their division. They have a lot on the line this week.

I like the spark I see in the Bucs, reminds me of what I thought our Rams would be this year. Plus, I maybe enjoyed them eating up the Hawks like an easy dinner a couple weeks ago.

And I’m tired of all FF players w Ryan they picked in the last rounds winning. I hope he gets zero this week. Fuck Atlanta.
I am typing this before ever going to an Atlanta Falcon fan site. Here I go….

For the old school Falcons fans….LA Rams v Falcons

Ok, damn. This is worth quoting…which I will do in a next post. Short thread, but good fans.

Falcons v Rams. Bottom line, who wins?

Going to LA game, should I be worried?

Their fans don’t suck. But still, fuck Atlanta and Go Rams!

From an old school Atlanta fan:

I have been a Falcons fan since I was 4 years old when they came here in 1966. I remember watching the Falcons play the LA Rams when the Rams had those cool looking blue and white uniforms and they used to beat the beeejeeebies out of us every time. Those were the best uniforms the Rams have ever had by far IMHO. We were in our originals back then too and I love those uniforms too. Never understood how we were in the NFC West with them and the 49ers. I can remember Roman Gabriel completing passes to Jack Snow while we had guys hanging off of him. He was good. And that D with Merlin Olsen, Deacon Jones, etc chasing Bob Berry, Cannonball Butler and Charmin' Harmon Wages all over the field. Great memories even if we did usually lose. But my favorite memory is Tommy Nobis intercepting a pass and running it back for a touchdown and nearly throwing the ball out of the stadium lol. Tommy Nobis was a man! I really feel sorry for you guys that never got to see Nobis play. You really missed something special. Any HOF list that does not include Mr. Nobis is a bad list.

All that being said, I hope Matt Ryan hangs 50+ on them Sunday and we walk away with an easy win and a Bucs loss to the Aints.

Spent 13 years in Atlanta in the 70s. I remember the Bartkowski years and those hail mary wins. Tommy Nobis WAS the man. :-)

Thinking about picking up tix for Sunday. Fucking hate the price points for even corner seats in the first 40 rows. Gonna wait it out and see if prices drop.

You should go! If you remember Atlanta v Rams from then, come see them play. They are by us now, enjoy.

I just fine this lovely. Same Atlanta thread.

Falcons used to mostly beat The Rams until Kurt Warner showed up. I started liking Falcons in 1993. Falcons ran all over them in 2005 playoff game.
--
This was waaaaaaay before Kurt Warner got there. Lol he was probably in diapers in the late 1960s when the Rams were still in LA before they ever thought about moving to St Louis.
----
That would be a good game the 99 Rams vs 16 Falcons. A shootout 4 sure. The Falcons were like the Browns and Jaguars until 1980.
----
Jags went to the AFCCG in year 2.....how long did it take us.......different era with free agency. The jags went to 2 championship games in the 1st 5 years.
----
I was talking about the games I remember primarily from 1966 to the early 70s against the LA Rams. Loved those blue and white uniforms. On a side note....I met Joe Namath once. I asked him about Nobis and Humphrey. He said Humphrey chased you around and talked smack. Then he said when Nobis hit you, everything went dark.
----
Best memory of Falcons vs LA Rams... A buddy and I were watching games at the local watering hole (this was before Sunday Ticket when you had to go to a sports bar with satellite to watch games), when a guy came in and told the bartender he has two tickets to the Rams Falcons game that afternoon but couldn't go and asked the bartender who might want the tix. Bartender points to me and my buddy, and the guy asks us if we want the tickets for free. Two and a half hours later we pull into the LA Coliseum at halftime and watch the second half of the Falcons beating the Rams that day. Great memory!

LA is always under the spotlight. The triumphant return of the Los Angeles Rams has been a complete disaster and the coach is going to take the blame. Many are very disappointed and it's easy to point at the culprit.

Not to mention the offense is historically bad. Boras should never work in the league again,,,, either.

1983, 6-4 rams @ 4-6 falcons, rams 36-13 as vince books a 122.0 qb rating including 2 tds, and e.d. gallops for 140 yards and 2 tds...
